HYBRID EVENT - Join us on Wednesday November 4, 7-8:30 PM to discuss “Perfect Victims: And the Politics of Appeal” by Mohammed El-Kurd محمد الكرد , hosted by the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington Palestinian Solidarity Team and co-sponsored by the PJC.
In person at FUUSB, 152 Pearl St, Burlington. Email [email protected] for zoom link.

All are welcome, regardless of how much of the book you’ve read.

This book became a New York Times Best Seller, a USA Today bestseller, and a national indie bestseller. It won the 2025 Palestine Book Award, and historian Robin D. G. Kelley praised it as a “new Discourse on Colonialism for the twenty-first century”.

“While a settler colonial state continues to inflict devastating violence, fundamental truths are deliberately obscured — the perpetrators are coddled while the victims are blamed and placed on trial. … How we see Palestine reveals how we see each other; how we see everything else. Masterfully combining candid testimony, history, and reportage, Perfect Victims presents a powerfully simple demand: dignity for the Palestinian.” (From the publisher)

Revisit Mohammed El-Kurd’s talk on this topic, which was hosted by the Will Miller Social Justice Series but pushed online after UVM backed out as it’s location mere days before it was scheduled to take place: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pywRqDtkuyo or via our linktree in bio.

Farmer Yousef Abu Rabee speaking about the importance of food sovereignty for Palestinians, as “aid” was air-dropped from planes in 2024.
