The Solaris Vocal Ensemble is dedicated to the belief that choral music - the powerful combination of music and language - can energize and inspire the human spirit. Our mission is to bring light and meaning to great choral works that span the ages, through compelling performances imbued with passion and musical artistry. Solaris performs a wide variety of choral literature ranging from evocative and introspective a ca****la selections from the Renaissance to dramatic 21st century works involving a variety of instrumental forces.

✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?

Someone whose presence gives you confidence.

Z. Randall Stroope's And Sure Stars Shining, inspired by the poetry of Sara Teasdale, paints a musical picture of stillness, peace, and hopeful resolution.

This December, you can 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴 and dedicate it to one of your own “sure stars”—someone you want to honor, celebrate, or remember.

Songs of Hope, Wonder and Joy

🕯️ 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱.

The Everlasting Flame, by Yoni Fogelman, was inspired by the ancient tradition of lighting candles for Shabbat and Chanukah.

With piano accompanying the voices, this beautiful new work celebrates the warmth and enduring light of the candle flame."

And isn't that also what we hope for the people who matter most to us?

That their light continues.
That their memory remains.
That something of them keeps shining.

Songs of Hope, Wonder and Joy

🕯️ 𝗜𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.
A tiny flame.
A quiet glow.
And then, slowly, it grows.

That is the inspiration behind Anna Lapwood's beautiful O Nata Lux, a modern a ca****la setting of a traditional Latin text.

The music unfolds like a candle flame growing from darkness into a steady, radiant light.
