Help us welcome Badger Hospice, LLC to Downtown Burlington! They officially opened their doors in January, making Burlington their second location as they have been serving patients and families from their Brookfield office for nearly a decade!
As we got to know the team when we visited their new space, it was very apparent that for them- hospice care isn't simply a job, it's their passion! Their mission centers around meeting patients where they are, respecting how they want to spend this stage of their lives, and helping them live as fully and comfortably as possible.
We also learned more about their Badger Foundation! This initiative is donation based and helps families create meaningful moments and memories by fulfilling a special final wish!
Badger Hospice provides compassionate, patient-centered hospice care focused on maintaining each individual’s dignity, comfort, goals, and wishes during the final stages of life! Their team takes a holistic approach to care, addressing medical needs, symptom management, and the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
Unlike an inpatient hospice facility, much of Badger Hospice’s care comes directly to the patient, whether they call a private residence, assisted living community, skilled nursing facility, or residential care facility home. Their 35-person team includes registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, medical social workers, physicians, spiritual care providers, and other professionals who work together to create an individualized plan of care for each patient.
Their support can go beyond traditional medical care with services and complementary therapies such as music, massage, pet therapy, and companionship. For eligible patients, hospice is a Medicare benefit, and services may also be covered through Medicaid or private insurance.
They are looking for volunteer community members! Volunteers can provide companionship and emotional support, assist with errands or caregiver respite, participate in bedside vigils, help with office and outreach projects, and share other talents that can bring comfort to patients and families.
Reach out if you are in need of care, looking to volunteer, or would like to donate!
