Thank you to Wendy and April for all the work that went into designing, ordering, and organizing our 4-H t-shirts. A huge shoutout to the wonderful volunteers who prepared the arena and took these beautiful photos.

And, of course, thank you to every 4-H members and volunteer who showed up!

What an incredibly special tradition we get to be a part of. Seeing everyone together like this is such a great reminder of what a special community we have here in Skagit County 4-H

🍀Are you a 4-H Volunteer over 21 in WA State that would like to certified to teach Shooting Sports or renew your previous certification, this is the training for you. Save the Date - Shooting Sports Level 1 Training, Whidbey Island coming in November! 🎯

Disciplines offered: Archery, Riflery, Shotgun, Pistol, Muzzleloading.

Registration opens October 15th and closes November 2nd in 4-H Online at Shooting Sports Level 1 Whidbey November 2026. There will be limited spots available, so register early!

Friday, November 6th 6:00-8:00 pm - Zoom Classroom Training
Saturday, November 7th - in-person - Shooting Sports disciplines will be added soon!
Sunday, November 8th - in person - Shooting Sports disciplines will be added soon!

Hours are 8 am - 5 pm with a working lunch.

Cost: to be determined.

LAST CALL FOR STATE FAIR STILL LIFE ENTRIES!

Today is the last day to drop off your State Fair Still Life projects at the WSU Skagit County Extension Office! Projects must have earned a blue ribbon at the Skagit County Fair to qualify for State. Please make sure each entry is clearly labeled with the member’s first and last name, Class Number & Description, County, and Entry #.

If you need help registering your project in FairEntry, please contact Ashley Saenz at

This weekend, our Skagit County 4-H Horse Clubs had the opportunity to attend the annual WWAA Tractor Show and spread the word about their fundraiser for a new tractor!

Our 4-H members had a great time connecting with the community, sharing more about their fundraising efforts, and lending a hand serving food throughout the event.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with our members, and supported our Horse Clubs! 💚

STATE FAIR STILL LIFE ENTRY REMINDER!

Entering a Still Life exhibit in the Washington State 4-H Fair? Don't forget to get your entries registered and dropped off!

Deadline: Wednesday, August 26 at 4:30 PM
WSU Skagit County Extension Office

All Still Life exhibits that you would like us to transport to State Fair must be registered AND dropped off at the Extension Office by 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 26.

Please make sure everything is completed and turned in by the deadline so we can get your exhibits safely on their way to State Fair!

Just a reminder that we have our Teen Summit Planning Meeting tonight at 6:30 PM at the WSU Skagit County Extension Office!

And just like that, the final day of the 2026 Skagit County Fair has come to an end.

It’s a bittersweet ending. Some of our 4-H members just finished their very first fair, while others finished their last...and there are so many memories, milestones, and moments in between.

No matter how this week went for you, we hope you walk away feeling incredibly proud of the love, energy, hard work, and care you poured into your animals and projects this year. Whether you brought home a ribbon, tried something new, overcame a challenge, helped a friend, or simply made it through a very long week, you accomplished something worth celebrating. We are SO proud of you. 💚

And of course, a week like this doesn't happen without an incredible group of people working behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to Aric for running the show and taking such great care of everyone, and to Margaret for coordinating ALL of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Fair moving.

Thank you to Sherri Nelson for sorting all of the ribbons and for everything you do in the arena. To our vets and judges, thank you for sharing your time, knowledge, and support to make this experience possible. To Wendy and April, thank you for making sure our 4-H members had their Fair T-shirts!

To all of our Fair Superintendents, THANK YOU. For the countless hours of paperwork, organizing, setting up, taking down, answering questions, caring for everyone in your barns, finding amazing judges, and doing the hundreds of little things most people never see. The Skagit County Fair truly could not happen without you.

To our club leaders, thank you for supporting our 4-H members all year long. Thank you for picking them up when they're feeling down, celebrating their successes, encouraging them to be brave, and helping them grow.

And to our 4-H parents and families, thank you for being there for your kids day after day. For supporting their passions, hauling animals and supplies, surviving the early mornings and long, hot days, and always being there to cheer them on. 💚

There are so many people who had a hand in making this week happen that we couldn't possibly name them all. To EVERYONE who volunteered, helped, supported, encouraged, organized, cleaned, hauled, cheered, or simply showed up when something needed to be done: THANK YOU.

What a successful, memorable, and FUN Fair.

Day THREE of the Skagit County Fair!

What an amazing day! A HUGE congratulations to everyone who participated in the Junior Livestock Sale today! Take a moment to be proud of yourselves and recognize all of the hard work, time, and care you’ve poured into your animals. You are all truly amazing, and we are so proud of you! 💚

We hope you also had a chance to check out some of the other fun happening around the fair today — from barrel racing, to poultry & dog costume contests, and the goat obstacle course!

And the fun isn’t over yet! 🤠 Make sure to stop by the Pavilion for LINE DANCING tonight!

Have fun, get some rest, and we’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM for the annual 4-H Fair Clover Photo!
