This Wednesday, our President, Tracey Grayzer, Program Director Jewel White, and For Alamance Arts & Culture Team Lead Cheryl Wilder joined a panel discussion for The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation’s Community of Practice.

They joined public innovators from across the country to share how community members in Alamance County are working together to spark positive change. The conversation highlighted our community’s journey over the past few years and the collective efforts that are helping create a more hopeful future.

It was an honor to share our story and learn from others who are helping strengthen communities across the country.

🚀 We’re excited to welcome the 2026 cohort of the Alamance County Racial Equity Collaborative (ACRE Co-Lab)!

This week, community leaders from a variety of backgrounds and sectors came together to begin this 12-week learning experience. Throughout the program, participants will explore how history and identity shape outcomes across systems in our community and beyond. They’ll learn from one another’s unique experiences while examining what it means to foster authentic, lasting belonging.

We’re excited to see how this cohort grows over the next few months and are confident they will help strengthen connections and build bridges throughout our community.

Thank you to our partners at NCCJ: North Carolina for Community and Justice for facilitating this wonderful program!

❤️ Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of leading with heart.

She showed us what it means to use success in service of others. While her music reached millions, her lifelong commitment to helping children, families, and communities may be her most lasting contribution. Her life reminds us that kindness matters and that each of us has the power to make a difference.

May we all strive to leave the world a little better than we found it, just as Dolly did.

To honor Dolly's commitment to helping children discover the joy of reading, consider making a gift to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library:

Dolly Parton was not only talented, but also charitable.

📖🧠Even babies benefit from story time!

Stories expose children to new words and ideas, expanding their imagination and laying important foundations for kindergarten readiness. Let your child take the lead by choosing the book or flipping to their favorite pages. Making reading fun today can help inspire a lifelong love of books.

During story time, try talking with your child about what's happening in the book:
💬 "What do you see on this page?"
💬 "How do you think Mr. Bear feels?"
💬 "What do you think will happen next?"

These simple conversations help build language skills, encourage curiosity, and make story time even more meaningful.

🩺💡Impact Alamance staff joined women from across Alamance County this morning at the Women's Resource Center in Alamance County’s Working Women’s Wednesday lunch.

We heard from Cone Health’s Dr. John Jenkins about the impact of school-based telehealth and behavioral health programs, which help connect students to high-quality care, reduce absenteeism, and support working families. In fact, more than 30% of families using school-based telehealth reported that they would otherwise have needed to take time off work to access care for their child.

Impact Alamance is proud to have made early investments to help pilot telehealth services in several ABSS schools, and we’re grateful to our colleagues at Cone Health, whose continued leadership and advocacy are helping expand access to care for local students and families.

📚🤗Behind every great school is a community that cares.

As students and teachers return to classrooms today, we’re grateful for the people who make our schools stronger—educators who inspire, students who bring curiosity and possibility, and a community that shows up to support them.

This year, consider one way you can show up for students, whether that's giving time, sharing resources, or lending your voice.
