UIRC is honored to be attending the 2025 Youth Prevention Institute: The Science of Relationships in Manchester, NH, together with one of our Youth Lead team members.

This institute focuses on cultivating meaningful connections with youth to prevent, protect, and help them flourish. We are gaining valuable knowledge and strategies to strengthen health-promoting relationships that serve as protective factors in our communities.

We look forward to bringing these insights back to Vermont to continue supporting immigrant and refugee youth and families!

Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to join our upcoming youth programs. Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities!

MIT has just announced a groundbreaking financial aid initiative. Starting next fall, undergraduates from families earning less than $200,000 can attend the prestigious institution tuition-free.

This policy will cover 80% of incoming students, with an even more generous provision for families earning under $100,000 — who will receive full coverage, including tuition, housing, dining, and personal expenses. The move comes as MIT's annual tuition stands at $57,986, significantly higher than the average for private institutions.

Data from collegevine.com indicates that once MIT's new tuition policy is implemented, it will have the highest income threshold of any U.S. 4-year college. Many institutions that offer similar programs, like Cornell University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Chicago, set their family income thresholds at around $60,000.
