If you live in the Northeast, you live in a region that plays an outsized role in the conservation of North America's breeding forest birds, many of which have experienced steep population declines over the past 50 years. Our region faces many challenges and opportunities when it comes to managing and protecting bird habitat.

Join us next week (Thursday, April 16) at 6:30 pm EST to learn more from Fen Levy-O'Malley from Audubon Vermont to learn more! Be sure to register at the link below.

🐦 Finch Irruption Alert! 🐦
Keep an eye on your feeders, Redpolls have been spotted visiting from the far north! Every few years, these small, streaky finches move south in large numbers when food is scarce in their Arctic breeding grounds, a phenomenon called a finch irruption. Look for tiny birds with frosty plumage and a splash of red on their foreheads, often traveling in chatty flocks. Winter birding just got exciting! As many as 15 Redpolls at a time have been observed foraging in the cedars in the Nature Center parking lot over the past several days!❄️
