October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀

Behind every diagnosis is a person whose everyday life keeps moving — groceries still need to be bought, the gas tank still needs to be filled, utility bills still arrive, and families still need to be cared for.

For our neighbors facing breast cancer, the impact reaches far beyond the doctor’s office.

At One Community One Family, we believe no one in our community should have to face those added worries alone. Our grants help Skagit County residents recently diagnosed with cancer with the everyday living expenses that can become especially difficult during treatment.

This month, we honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand beside those who are in the middle of it right now. 💗

And to our Skagit County neighbors facing breast cancer: your community is here for you.

We have some exciting news to share!

Marathon Petroleum has committed to supporting One Community One Family as our inaugural Community Catalyst Sponsor through December 2027.

Their generous investment will help OCOF continue providing financial support to cancer patients and families right here in Skagit County—helping with the everyday expenses that don’t stop when someone is diagnosed with cancer.

We are excited to see Sara with Cornerstone Myo tomorrow at our One Community One Family (OCOF) Golf Tournament! ⛳️

She will be there as a tee sponsor, but more importantly, she will be providing education and preventive oral cancer screenings for participants and attendees. Early detection is so important—a screening only takes a few minutes and could save a life.
