We have four parents who are running for one seat on the Camp Ernst Middle School SBDM Council. Their submitted bios are here:
Kimberly Cox
My name is Kimberly Cox, and my daughter Amelia is an incoming 8 th grader at Camp Ernst Middle School. I currently live in Burlington with Amelia and our two dogs and work for Thermo Fisher as a Scientific and Technical Affairs Specialist. I enjoy tending to my plants, participating in a book club, and collecting vinyl records in my free time.
I am interested in serving as the minority parent representative for Camp Ernst’s SBDM for a third year. While Amelia attended Florence Elementary School, I served on the SBDM as a parent representative from 2018 until the spring of 2023. My tenure at Florence Elementary was incredibly rewarding, as I felt I was providing a unique voice in the decisions regarding Florence Elementary. My two years on Camp Ernst’s SBDM were equally rewarding, and I would be honored to serve as a representative again.
Lisa Randall
Dear Camp Ernst Middle School Parents,
I would like to express my interest in the Site Based Decision Making Council at Camp Ernst Middle School. I currently have a Freshman in college, a Freshman at Cooper, and a 5 th grader at Burlington Elementary. I have 3 kids in all, 2 of which have already walked the halls of CEMS, and my youngest will begin his journey at CEMS in the 2025-2026 school year. My interest stems from wanting to be involved more at the middle school level since I have been involved at the elementary level but have yet to really get involved at the middle school level except through serving the MS through archery events hosted while my 2 oldest were participating in archery at the MS and HS levels. I have spent the last 5 years on the site-based council at the elementary level and have really learned a lot about school operations, the budgeting, and what goes into the education of our students. Next year, since I will have a 6 th grader at CEMS, I would like to take part in ensuring that CEMS continues to grow educationally, and that we are hiring the best staff possible when there’s a vacancy.
In addition to serving on the SBDMC, I was previously chosen to take part in 2 district-wide programs to be able to provide feedback to Boone County as well as learn about the operations of the school district so I can educate the community and bring ideas back to Burlington. I participated in the Portrait of a Graduate program held by Dr. Turner.
We were comprised of school administrators, teachers, parents and community and business leaders. We met to determine what success means for our students as they go through each level of their school career, how to define skills and incorporate those into the education they are receiving so they can ultimately become a successful graduate and be successful in their chosen path after graduation. I also took part in the Boone County Schools Ambassador program. Through this program, I was able to learn about the operations of the district as a whole and it was very eye opening as to how much goes into running one school year, the communication, coordination, and how our schools can support district operations on a daily basis. I was able to travel to different schools throughout the program and bring back ideas to BES as to how other schools make improvements and manage their school day and learning. As part of the ambassador program, we were also able to have a direct connection to district administration to voice successes of our school, but also concerns so that district can understand what is important in our current school environment. However, my favorite part of the ambassador program was touring and learning about the transportation department and getting the opportunity to drive a bus! I hope by continuing to participate in the Site-Based Council, that I will have future opportunities to be nominated to attend such district programs and initiatives as they are offered.
Last but not least, I also have a finance/accounting background and serve as a Controller for an Accounting Advisory firm. With that I am familiar with ensuring fiscal responsibility. From serving at BES, I bring experience in understanding and reviewing the various school budgets and some of the required expenses of the school related to programs, hiring, and student needs. I can contribute by bringing a more experienced eye and providing input where needed. All in all, I look forward to serving on the council at the Middle School level and representing Camp Ernst Middle School parents and students.
Thank You,
Lisa Randall
Tabetha Foster
My name is Tabetha Foster, and I am a parent of a current Camp Ernst Middle School student. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve on the SBDM Council and contribute to the continued success of our school community.
I have worked at the Christ Hospital Health and Aging Center for over 10 years, where I manage two outpatient practices. In this role, I oversee a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, and support staff. My responsibilities include budgeting, hiring, workflow development, and daily operations. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills—qualities I believe are essential for contributing effectively to the council.
Although most of my professional volunteer work has focused on dementia-related services, I have also been involved in youth activities, including coaching my daughter’s cheer team. Additionally, as an aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, I’ve always found joy in supporting and guiding young people.
I’m passionate about helping create a positive and supportive environment for all students, and I would be honored to bring my skills and experience to the SBDM Council.
Wilson Medder
My name is Wilson Medder, and I've been happily married to my wife, Shawnee, for nearly 14 years. We're proud parents of two wonderful children: Arrington, a 6th grader at CEMS, and Israelle, a 4th grader at BES.
I was raised in Miami, Florida, and attended Westminster Christian School from 3rd grade through high school graduation. Education has always been an important part of my family's life--both of my parents have served at Westminster Christian for over two decades. My father's journey there-from high school teacher to Vice Principal, Principal, and now Associate Head of School-has been a major influence on my values and work ethic.
In July 2023, my family and I relocated to Burlington after living in Ohio since 2015. My professional background is in Information Technology, a field I've been passionate about since high school. Since 2019, I've served as the Network Administrator for the Cincinnati Bengals. The 2025 NFL season will mark my seventh full-time season with the team.
Technology continues to be a driving interest in my life. I'm always exploring new tools and innovations that can improve how we live and work. Education is a big deal in our family, and I'm always looking to be more involved in my kids' learning journeys. It's important to me that they not only get a great education but also know that we're supporting them every step of the way.
