A little over one week until our annual Autumn Open House! 🍂 We've got our own to-do list for the day, but we want to hear about what's on yours. 👀 What are you looking forward to most?

Join us on Saturday, October 10th for our Annual Autumn Open House! 🍁 From 2-6PM we're inviting the community out to Seno Woodland Center for a fun fall afternoon of food, drink, exhibitors, live music and more, all to help raise money to support our mission. So, are we in your calendar yet? 👀

Today marks the first day of fall. Also known as the autumnal equinox, it’s the precise moment when the sun crosses directly above the Earth's equator and both day and night are nearly 12 hours long.
This means that it’s only a matter of time before the tamarack trees in our bog turn a vibrant golden yellow and lose their needles. Tamarack is Wisconsin’s only deciduous conifer.
Autumn is a magical time in the forest!

Attended our very first Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association annual meeting on Saturday to accept the 2026 Outstanding Educational Tree Farm Award from the Wisconsin Tree Farm Committee. Thank you to these wonderful organizations for recognizing our efforts to help educate future generations about sustainable forestry in southeastern Wisconsin.

What a wonderful day for the grand opening of our Seno Woodland StoryWalk! Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day, especially our friends from Burlington Public Library, Burlington Area School District and Racine Literacy Council. Thanks to Blackbird Bakery for baking the adorable woodland-themed cookies and The Coffee House at Chestnut & Pine for brewing up the coffee, and to May's Insurance Agency and Smoky Lake Maple Products for supporting this event. Finally, a special shout out to Joe and Tricia from the library; Joe for reading our very first story to all our guests and Tricia for throwing a dance party for the children after they completed the Storywalk. It was so much fun!
