Five more awards in December, after 11 in November! Our group is busy. Meet John Allen of Burlington, WWII Air Force veteran. A group award was held as well: Richard Sheaffer of rural Burlington served in the Army between 1953 and 1955. Monte Schmidt of Burlington is a Navy veteran, serving between 1968 and 1977. Harold Hess of Burlington was presented a quilt for his service in the Army between 1968 and 1970. Finally, John Malone of Garnett was honored for his service in the Air Force from 1963 through 1990.

We had a busy fall season of awards, starting with Brenda Futrell's uncle, Everett Wayne S., Air Force veteran. Then on November 9th, 8 awards were made in Burlington at the Rec Center: Bruce H., Army; Wyatt and Mildred C., Marines; Doug F., Navy; Larry C., Navy; Charles and Denise S., Navy; and George P., Navy. Michael G., Navy, was awarded a QOV on November 10th at his church. Wrapping up, Richard B., Army, and Rhonda M., both of Colony, received quilts at the Crest High School Veterans Day assembly on the 11th.

Thank you, Veterans, for your Service! for your Sacrifice! for your Valor!!

Single award at Burlington (KS) Baptist Church following morning worship.

Group Award(2) at Crest High School, Colony KS, approximately 9:30 a.m.

Many know Cindy Hyson who sews at the Carnegie basement in Burlington. Her husband, Myron, received a Quilt of Valor on March 9th in Wichita, along with his brother. Both are Vietnam-era vets.

Also, thanks goes out to Laverne Lendo for making the top. Laverne is another Sewing Sister at the Carnegie.
