Brief but spectacular explanation about the plastics we use and discard.

We've all been told that we should recycle plastic bottles and containers. But what actually happens to the plastic if we just throw it away? Emma Bryce traces the life cycles of three different plastic bottles, shedding light on the dangers these disposables present to our world. [Directed by Sharo...

City Nature Challenge (CNC) started in 2016 as a competition between Los Angeles and San Francisco. CNC has grown into an international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities.
These photos were taken on a marsh walk in Coyote Point Park, San Mateo, led by the wonderful staff at CuriOdyssey. Bella CF is a proud funder of their conservation effort and educating the next generation to care and be curious about the natural world. Because we care for what we love. Our ecosystems and its biodiversity are endangered. It will require a massive effort, working together, to save our planet and therefore ourselves.

This is a lively introduction to residential composting given by Brian Hicks, a UC Master Gardener from San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. Much of what is hauled away from your curbside green bin can instead be kept and converted into compost, by you. Whether you have a small yard, or just a tiny, cool spot to place a worm bin, this presentation will help you get started on composting. We'll describe ways you can turn kitchen scraps and/or a variety of yard debris into valuable compost, so that you may use this free, high-quality soil amendment to enhance your landscape, garden or container plants.

Call to action- doing nothing to help the ecosystem is negligence. Nature’s resilience isn’t limitless and it needs your help and mine. Little actions, such as planting natives in your garden or in a pot on your porch, can help our wildlife and pollinators.

In September 1957, nine African American students—the "Little Rock Nine"—bravely integrated Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas, challenging segregation after the Brown v. Board of Education decision. Despite being blocked by the state National Guard under Governor Orval Faubus, President Eisenhower intervened, sending federal troops to protect the students.
What struck me about this interview is Minnijean Brown reflected that there were 300 mean students, but 20 who smiled and talked to her. That gave her hope. However, 1700 students remained silent.
It speaks to human nature and there are similarities with what is happening in America now with racial profiling and the mass arrests and incarceration by ICE.
We have to ask ourselves what side of history do we want to find ourselves? When your children or grandchildren ask you what you did to support your neighbors in America who are being brutalized and dehumanized, what will your answer be?
Do you want to say you went about your daily lives ignoring the injustice and brutality?
