We have lost a true cultural warrior, Alcario Castellano. He was a visionary philanthropist, a family man who spoke his mind about inequities and was so proud of his wife, Carmen, and his children. Alcario and Carmen launched the Chicana Latina Foundation’s (CLF) endowment by being its first funders. They were unequivocal about supporting education, leadership, arts, and culture and invested in community-based organizations. We are blessed to have had both mother, Carmen, and daughter, Carmela, on our Board of Directors, Armando as a special collaborator, and Al as our historical visual archivist. Al and Carmen have left a strong legacy in the region, state, and nation. Que viva la familia Castellano. Que viva Al y Carmen. Presente! Presente! Presente!

Drum roll...CLF is awarding the Legacy Award to Maria Eraña, who in her tenure as Operations Director of Radio Bilingüe expanded RB's network from 4 stations in California to 25 all over the Southwest. We need to support Latinx/Indigenous owned community media as an alternative to corporate media. Living in California and often driving on highway 5 to Los Angeles, I've always enjoyed listening to Spanish, English, Spanglish, Mixteco and other indigenous language news and music on radio bilingüe. It's truly a treasure that plays a key role in our communities. Join us in recognizing brilliance and dedication to news that matters.

It was an amazing gathering last night in Mexico City of UC Berkeley Haas Alumni. I was honored to be representing the
UCB CLSD and UC CLAA - while creating comunidad and connecting fellow alumni to the new Somos Hass Alumni Association that launch last week.
Felicidades - Adrien Lanusse and Oscar Olivas and the entire team that made this happen. And special shout out to Roberto Wesche Hernandez for helping us with all the logistics from the Mexico. Sequimos Pa'delante - Go Bear! Go Osxs!
