Kickoff for a good cause! ⚽ Join Kids & Art Foundation at the Oakland Roots Sports Club vs. Lexington SC game on September 12 at 7:00 PM, Oakland Coliseum. We’ll be there celebrating Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and exhibiting artwork from kids in our programs. Inspiration comes from everywhere, including a summer in France! ✈️🎨 Deb Hopkins, our Artist-in-Residence at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, spent part of her summer exploring museums, painting, and even learning the art of handmade paper as part of an art class abroad. She brings that same curiosity and creativity back to our workshops, helping kids find new ways to express themselves through art. Where do our artists find their inspiration? Turns out, just about anywhere. 🌍

Lolo first joined us through our Amaeyzing ArtKits program and later participated in our Destination Workshops and workshops at Stanford. Three years ago, she was featured as one of our child artists, and today she’s proudly holding up that very issue.

Moments like these remind us that while our programs may have an end, the relationships often don’t. One of the greatest privileges of our work is staying connected with the children and families we’ve had the honor of supporting, even long after they no longer need our services.

Her dad recently shared this message with us: “Thanks for being there when we needed you!”

We’re so grateful to watch survivors like Lolo continue to grow, create, and thrive.
