So sad but so true! Same also for kittens! We are currently up to our eyeballs in kittens and can’t seem to keep formula stocked! We CAN do better!

It’s been raining puppies! Puppy litters have been found all over in rural areas with no houses in sight.
The puppies aren’t the problem. It’s the lack of spaying and neutering.
Let’s do better!

This beautiful boy was found running up the street on Main. He was almost hit by a car. He is safe with us while we try and find his family. If you know who he belongs to please reach out and let us know!

This little guy didn’t deserve what happened to him. He was attacked by a much larger dog and he’s in rough shape — limping, sore, and covered in bite wounds. He’s hurting, but he’s still trying, and that alone says so much about him.

We need to get him seen and treated as soon as possible. Situations like this add up fast, and we can’t do it without help.

If you’ve ever thought about helping one of these dogs, this is one of those moments. Anything you can give goes straight to his care — vetting, medication, and getting him comfortable again.

We’ll keep everyone updated as we learn more. Thank you for always showing up for them.

Please meet Hansel & Gretel 🐾

These precious babies were found hiding under a house, completely covered in fleas and just trying to survive.

Thankfully, these two little angels are now safe, tagged, and on their way to San Antonio where a rescue is ready to welcome them and help them find the loving homes they deserve.

Kitten season has already been a doozy… and it’s only just beginning.

Meet Miracle. Out of a litter of five, she is the only survivor. Against every odd, she fought—and she’s still fighting. Her name isn’t just fitting… it’s the truth.

Right now, Miracle is at the vet receiving the urgent care she so desperately needs. This comes at an especially hard time for us, as our vaccine supply was just destroyed yesterday—making this loss hit even deeper.

Panleuk is ruthless. It moves fast, and without intervention, is ALWAYS fatal in kittens. But Miracle still has a chance—and we are not giving up on her.

We need your help—this one hurts.

As many of you know, we regularly provide free vaccines to families who are struggling, because keeping pets healthy and safe should never be out of reach.

Unfortunately, we just took a major hit.
A breaker to our vaccine fridge tripped, and by the time we caught it, over $800 worth of vaccines were completely destroyed.

For a large organization, that’s a setback.
For us—a small, family-run rescue already fighting to stay afloat—it’s devastating.

Those vaccines weren’t just supplies.
They were protection for pets, peace of mind for families, and part of the lifeline we work so hard to provide in this community.

We need to restock as soon as possible to continue this lifesaving work—but we can’t do it alone.

Update on Our Sweet Girl 🐾

Her surgery went well, and she is now resting and beginning recovery. After everything she’s been through, she is incredibly strong — and we’re so relieved she made it through.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who stepped up, donated, and shared. Your support made immediate care possible, and it truly mattered.

She still has a road ahead — follow-up care, medications, and continued monitoring — but today is a good day.

🐾💔 A message from our family at OBAR 💔🐾

Operation Border Animal Rescue is, and always has been, a small family-run rescue. Every animal we save, every vet visit, every late-night feeding—it all comes from our home, our time, and our hearts.

Recently, our family has been going through a major transitional phase, and because of that, we haven’t been able to respond to messages as quickly or share as much of our rescue work as we normally do.

For that, we are truly and deeply sorry.
We know how many of you reach out to help animals in need, and it breaks our hearts that we haven’t been able to answer everyone the way you deserve.

Please know this… even when we are quiet online, the rescue work has never stopped.

Right now, we are in desperate need of foster families.
Fostering truly saves lives—and in most cases, it’s only for a couple of weeks. We provide guidance and support every step of the way. Opening your home, even temporarily, can make all the difference.

We also want to be transparent—due to a lack of recent fundraising, our funds have been drastically depleted. This makes it incredibly difficult to continue taking in animals at the pace they need.

To those who have stood by us, supported us, shared our posts, donated, fostered, or simply shown kindness… thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your patience, understanding, and compassion mean more than we can ever express.
