This week, members of the Burleson Rotary Club continued their commitment to serving the community through meaningful outreach and appreciation efforts.

Teresa and Veronica delivered books to the Center for Asd as part of a special literacy and encouragement initiative. In addition, they helped supply and set up for Teacher Appreciation Day at the center, celebrating the incredible educators and staff who work tirelessly to support special needs families and students every day.

A heartfelt thank you to Teresa and Veronica for representing the spirit of Rotary through service, compassion, and community impact. Your dedication continues to make a difference in Burleson.

2026 Annual BTX Honey Tour Bike Ride Recap

The 2026 Burleson Annual Honey Tour Bike Ride was another incredible success as cyclists, families, volunteers, and community supporters gathered in Burleson over Memorial Day weekend for one of North Texas’ most anticipated cycling traditions.

Hosted in partnership with the City of Burleson, this year’s Honey Tour brought together riders of all ages and skill levels to experience the scenic rolling countryside routes surrounding Burleson. Participants had the opportunity to choose from multiple ride distances ranging from 7 miles to 67 miles, making the event accessible for both casual riders and seasoned cyclists alike.

The event atmosphere was filled with energy, camaraderie, and community spirit from the early morning lineup through the finish-line celebrations. Riders enjoyed well-supported routes, rest stops staffed by dedicated volunteers, medical and SAG support teams, and a vibrant rider village at the finish line.

This year’s Honey Tour once again highlighted the strong sense of community that makes Burleson special. Local businesses, volunteers, city staff, and community organizations worked together to create an unforgettable experience for nearly thousands of riders visiting the city during the Memorial Day festivities.

Special thanks to all organizers; especially Kathryn D Rowell who championed the project at our club;, volunteers, sponsors, law enforcement officers, medical teams, and participants who helped make the 2026 Honey Tour a memorable and safe event for everyone involved.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on the road again next year!

Yesterday’s meeting was both inspiring and rewarding as we welcomed special guest speaker Kris Hudson from the Mansfield Rotary Club. Kris shared reflections from his mission trip to Peru with the Mansfield-based nonprofit Allies in Youth Development, highlighting the impact of service, cross-cultural outreach, and the importance of investing in communities beyond our borders. His presentation reminded us all of Rotary’s global mission of “Service Above Self.”

We also had the privilege of recognizing three outstanding students from as they officially received their Burleson Rotary Club scholarship awards:

* Brooke Bridges — $5,000 Scholarship Recipient
* Boston Borg — $1,000 Scholarship Recipient
* Addelyn Barnum — $1,000 Scholarship Recipient

This is in addition to a $5,000 scholarship awarded to Rachael Parker from Burleson High School

Congratulations to these exceptional students as they prepare for their next chapter. We are proud to support the future leaders of our community and wish them continued success in their academic and professional journeys.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the meeting impactful and memorable.

Happy Birthday to our fearless Rotary President and compliance boss, Veneshia Ferdinand!

Some people break rules… Veneshia writes a 14-page policy memo about why you thought about breaking the rules.

At Simmons Bank, even the printers probably need compliance approval before they jam.
At Rotary, she smiles so nicely you forget you’re being professionally audited.

Somewhere right now, a banker is nervously checking an email because Veneshia replied with:
‘Per my last message…’

But in all seriousness, Burleson Rotary Club is lucky to have a leader who keeps us organized, classy, and probably federally compliant too.

Happy Birthday, Madam President! May your day be free of audits, missing signatures, and unauthorized expense reports.
