The city has a baseball tournament going on that charges at the gate to get into the facility. They have been made aware of football and soccer and WILL NOT CHARGE there, just simply tell them I'm here with football.

Viktor picked Weatherford over Eaton 9U. Wrong.

Viktor picked Burleson over Eaton 10U. Wrong.

Viktor picked Eaton over Crowley 8U. Also wrong.

Apparently problem was not football knowledge. Problem was choosing correct species of Eagle. Crystal ball has been confiscated. Assistant has disappeared. Investigation remains active. Do not celebrate too much, comrades. Even expensive surveillance equipment occasionally misses obvious thing.

Now…

Week 7.

This is when season changes expression. Friendly handshakes become shorter. Coaches stop answering questions about next week. Parents suddenly understand tiebreakers better than people who wrote them. And somewhere, a man who said in August, “It’s just youth football…” is watching opponent film at 11:47 PM in dark kitchen while family sleeps.

Viktor sees you. Put shredded cheese back in refrigerator.

Week 7 brings undefeated showdowns. Dangerous road trips. Teams fighting for playoff position. Teams fighting for pride. And favorites who may discover confidence travels much better than ex*****on.

You think you know how story ends? Excellent. That is usually when trouble arrives.

Imagine Joshua expecting separation. Instead… another defensive stop. Another possession gone. Clock begins moving faster than coach likes. Home sideline starts believing. Crowd stands. And suddenly favorite needs something it assumed would already belong to them.

And suddenly… opinions must put on shoulder pads.

Viktor watches moment first plan fails. That is where real game begins. One team adjusts. One sideline remains calm. One sideline may begin explaining why adjustment should not have been necessary. Late in game, Viktor sees fourth down. Short distance. Long silence. Coach looks at play sheet even though he already knows call. Defense knows too. Now somebody must execute it anyway...

VIKTOR THE PREDIKTOR — WEEK 6

Privet, MYFA. Is Viktor.

Before we begin, Viktor must address unfortunate matter. Last week... Viktor picked Granbury over Eaton 10U. Eaton won 26–0. Viktor picked Crowley over Burleson 12U. Burleson won 22–6.

Yes... Wrong twice. Please save screenshot of this confession. Next admission requires court order.

Week 6 is upon us. Undefeated teams collide.... Playoff contenders begin checking standings more often than bank accounts.... Coaches approach sideline with enough nervous energy to power small Russian village.... And parents have started calculating playoff scenarios using math last attempted in ninth grade. Beautiful.

But before we march into divisions, Viktor has noticed something... We have reached Week 6. This is dangerous time in youth football. Early-season patience has disappeared. Playoff math has begun. Coaches who said in August, “We are just here to develop kids,” are now studying point differentials at midnight like Soviet intelligence officers examining satellite photographs.

Parents know standings. Parents know tiebreakers. Parents somehow know record of team their child does not even play. And every 8-year-old still has absolutely no idea where his mouthpiece is. Beautiful sport.

By now, everybody has film. Everybody has tendencies. Everybody has “that one play” they swear would work if coaches would just call it. There are fewer surprises. There are fewer excuses. And there is always one dad standing six feet behind sideline explaining defensive alignment to absolutely nobody who asked. This is where season gets interesting, comrades.

Undefeated teams are no longer cute story. Winless teams become dangerous because they have nothing left to protect. Middle of standings becomes traffic jam. And playoff contenders begin discovering that every Saturday now carries little more weight.

One turnover. One missed tackle. One fourth-down stop. One child suddenly remembering he is much faster than everyone else. That is all it takes. So tighten chinstraps. Find mouthpieces. Coaches, locate play sheets...

Parents, please remember officials cannot hear you better simply because you lean farther over fence.

Eaton and Joshua Carroll tied 13–13 last week. Viktor predicted winner. Teams apparently chose diplomatic solution. Very disappointing. Viktor came for argument, not treaty negotiation.

Azle Youchum survived Worthington 20–19. One point. One play. One parent who almost certainly watched final snap through fingers.

Now Youchum visits Eaton. Viktor picks Eagles… but Hornets have already demonstrated how quickly comfortable Saturday turns into long drive home.

Alexander beat Glennon 32–14. Glennon gets bye. Excellent week to shop at different grocery store.

First mistake feels small. Second mistake may decide afternoon. Viktor takes Eaton.

Crowley, you earned Viktor’s respect last week. Saturday you earn opportunity to make him regret another paragraph.

Azle beat Cleburne 36–6 and watches from bye at 4–1. Hornets will be observing quietly. Fine. “Quietly” was ridiculous thing to write.

Good morning, MYFA! Viktor is back for Week 5

I reviewed scores, standings and several coaching decisions that deserve their own investigation. Relax. Only football investigation. Put bylaws away.

Week 4 gave us one-point wins, two-point escapes and enough shutouts to make scoreboard operator ask for different assignment.

Now October arrives. Air gets cooler. Games get harder. Excuses remain very warm.

Viktor brings predictions. You bring outrage. Beautiful arrangement.

5U — SMALL ATHLETES, LARGE ADULT EMOTIONS

Top five: Eaton, Joshua, Mineral Wells (Medron), Weatherford (Hargrove), Cleburne (Sonka).

Granbury Tyler beat Cleburne Boone 31–30. Sixty-one points before breakfast finished! Was anyone pulling flags, or everybody politely admiring runners?

Joshua and Mineral Wells (Medron) tied 14–14. Two teams arrived wanting victory. Both left saying, “Well, at least we didn’t lose.” Very diplomatic. Viktor prefers winner.

Eaton beat Mineral Wells (Cupp) 36–8. Cleburne (Sonka) beat Granbury (Lack) 36–6. White Settlement beat Azle (Crow) 36–12.

This week Eaton visits Crowley, who had bye.

Crowley, you had extra week to prepare. Please tell Viktor preparation involved more than charging speaker and ordering snacks. Viktor's prediktion... Eagles with the win (see what Viktor did).

Top five: Burleson, Cleburne, White Settlement, Mineral Wells, Weatherford (Worthington)

Eaton beat Joshua (Malcolm) 28–14. Now Eagles get Joshua (Carroll), who just beat Weatherford (Worthington) 20–6.

Eaton, careful. You beat one Joshua. This does not mean you purchased entire franchise.

Still, Viktor picking Eagles for upset.

Mineral Wells beat Azle (Glennon) 35–6. Azle (Alexander) shut out Weatherford (Spikes) 14–0. Now Alexander plays Glennon.

Same town. Different teams. One very awkward conversation at next association meeting.

Glennon, good news: Azle will win.
Bad news: Viktor believes it will be other Azle.

Cleburne beat Azle (Youchum) 20–0. White Settlement beat Granbury (Martinez) 24–7. Now Cleburne and White Settlement meet. Finally, matchup where both sidelines arrive with recent evidence.

Two-point victories! Coaches smiling afterward like everything went exactly according to plan. Yes, of course. Sweating through hat was part of strategy.

Weatherford beat Azle 6–0. One touchdown. Entire game. Very economical football.

Now Eaton visits Granbury.

Eagles, escaping Crowley was good. But Pirates just shut out team sitting above you. Viktor taking Granbury and keeping emergency excuse notebook nearby.

Burleson, sixteen points against leader gives you something to build on. Please build quickly. Joshua coming off 30–0 win over Cleburne.

Weatherford also won 30–0, against Granbury. Azle beat Mineral Wells 14–6.
