ππ βTWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE FOOTBALL SEASONβ¦ ππ
βTwas the night before kickoff, and all through each town,
The helmets were ready, the jerseys laid down.
The cleats had been laced and the mouthguards packed tight,
For tomorrow begins what weβve waited for all night!
The fields have are all ready, the sidelines are set,
And parents are wondering, βWhat did I forget?!β π
The coaches have practiced, prepared every play,
While players keep asking, βIs it game time today?!β
So tonight, before whistles and touchdowns begin,
Before that first kickoff and dreams of a win,
We pause for a moment, our heads gently bowed,
And ask for Your blessings on this football crowd. π
Dear Lord,
Watch over each player who steps on the field,
Surround them with protectionβbe their strength and their shield.
Bless every coach who gives time, heart, and care,
Give them patience and wisdom and help them lead fair.
Bless all of our parents, grandparents, and fans,
Who haul chairs, pack coolers, and cheer from the stands.
Give them patience with schedules, the weatherβ¦and refs, too! π
And remind us our children are watching what we do.
Bless every team mom, volunteer, board member, and crew,
For the countless little things they quietly do.
Bless those working concessions, the chains and the gate, and everyone arriving ridiculously early and leaving way too late. π
Bless our officials with wisdom and sight,
May their calls be fair and their judgment be right.
And when we don't agreeβbecause surely we mightβ
Help us remember to keep it respectful alright! π
Protect every child, no matter the jersey they wear.
Keep injuries away and surround them with care.
Let sportsmanship shine brighter than any scoreboard can,
And teach them to loseβand to winβwith a hand.
May rival towns battle for four quarters strong,
Then shake hands afterward knowing we all belong.
Because underneath colors, team names, and pride,
We're one football family standing side by side. β€οΈ
Let there be touchdowns, big tackles, and cheers,
New friendships, great memories, and maybe happy tears.
Let these kids play hard, laugh big, and have fun,
And remember they're already champions before a game is won.
Because one day these helmets will hang up for good,
And we'll wish for one more Saturday, if only we could.
So help us slow down and soak in each playβ
These football Saturdays won't last forever this way. π₯Ήπ
So here's to our organizations, both near and far,
To every young athleteβgo show them who you are!
May the fields be safe,
May the friendships grow,
May the lessons last longer than the wins we know.
And as stadium lights shine and that first whistle blowsβ¦
Lord, bless our football family wherever it goes. π
May we play with HEART,
lead with CHARACTER,
compete with RESPECT,
and remember the reason we're all here:
THE KIDS. β€οΈπ
Amen. π
π GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF OUR YOUTH FOOTBALL ORGANIZATIONS! π
May your 2026 season be safe, exciting, memorable, and filled with moments these kids will carry with them forever.
Now get those uniforms ready, charge the cameras, pack the coolers, set the alarmsβ¦
BECAUSE TOMORROWβ¦ ITβS FOOTBALL TIME! ππ₯
