On April 2, 2014, my life changed forever when I was shot through the throat during the Fort Hood shooting.

With the 2009 Fort Hood tragedy back in the headlines, I wanted to share my perspective as a survivor of the separate 2014 shooting.

In this episode of A Life Transformed, I share my heart on survival, trauma, justice, and the families who continue to carry the weight of these tragedies.

My hope is that we never forget those we lost and continue to stand alongside those who survived.

CHAMPIONS ARE NOT MADE BY ACCIDENT! 🏆🔥

A good friend and mentor of mine, Danny McDaniel, once said:

“If you want to be a champion, you must live among champions and be willing to go where they have gone.”

That’s powerful wisdom!

You cannot expect championship results while surrounding yourself with average expectations.

Champions think differently. They prepare differently. They sacrifice differently. And most importantly, they are willing to do what others won’t to achieve what others can’t.

If you want to reach another level, surround yourself with people who challenge you, sharpen you, inspire you, and refuse to let you settle for less than your potential.

Your environment matters. Your circle matters. Your willingness to grow matters.

🔥 If you want to become a champion, stop simply admiring champions. Start embracing the discipline, sacrifice, and commitment that made them champions!

Championship living requires championship decisions!

🐎❤️ IN LESS THAN A YEAR, OUR ENTIRE WORLD HAS CHANGED! ❤️🐎

If you had told us a year ago that our lives would be filled with cows 🐂, horses 🐎, and chickens 🐥, we probably wouldn’t have believed you!

We had never owned any of them. We knew NOTHING about farm life. But here we are, learning, growing, and absolutely LOVING this beautiful new chapter God has written for us! 🙌❤️

Yesterday, I was taking pictures of Angel wearing one of our NEW T-shirts: “Just a Girl Who Loves Jesus and Horses.” ✝️🐎

And as I watched her with Breckenridge (Ridge), our horse, my heart was overwhelmed.

There is something so beautiful about the bond between a girl and her horse. ❤️

The way Ridge looks at Angel. The way he watches her. The gentleness he shows her. The love and trust between them.

I truly believe Ridge is a watchman over Angel. 🐎❤️

It’s as if God placed this beautiful horse in her life for a purpose far greater than we could have imagined.

Sometimes God’s greatest blessings come wrapped in things we never saw coming.

We didn’t just move to a farm. God is transforming our lives, one day, one animal, and one beautiful moment at a time. 🙏
