The Cannon Fire Music Festival will take place this weekend at the Burkittsville Ruritan Club Community Center grounds.

The Burkittsville Ruritan Club and Town of Burkittsville will sponsor a Catfish Fishing Derby this Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Town Pond, located at the corner of South Potomac Street (Route 17) and Lake Side Drive in Burkittsville. Registration will begin at 9:00 am for children up to 15 years of age. All participants must bring their own bait and tackle and be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups and there will be free refreshments for everyone to enjoy. The derby will run from 10:00am until noon.

The Burkittsville Ruritan Club appreciates everyone who came out yesterday to support the Drake Family at the first Annual Bailey Drake Memorial Car Show! The Ruritan Community Center grounds were filled with cars, trucks, motorcycles, and lots of fellowship among friends and neighbors who came out to support the event raising funds for the Bailey Drake Greasy Hands Scholarship Fund. We especially thank everyone who stopped by the food and ice cream stands and supported the Ruritan Club and Ladies Auxiliary.

Trout Fishing Derby this Saturday at the Burkittsville Pond!

The Burkittsville Ruritan Club, in partnership with the Town of Burkittsville, will hold a Trout Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Registration will open at 9am and the derby will run from 10am to noon. The derby is open to children ages 15 and under. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups and free hot dogs, chips, and cool drinks will be served. The Trout Derby will take place at the Burkittsville Town Pond, located at the corner of Route 17 and Lakeside Drive.

The Burkittsville Ruritan Club, in partnership with the Ladies Auxiliary and Town of Burkittsville, will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Light refreshments will be served from noon to 1pm, and the egg hunt will begin at 1pm for children aged 12 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups.

Due to the recent winter storm and dangerous road conditions, the January meeting of the Burkittsville Ruritan Club has been canceled. We will install our new Board of Directors and conduct our beginning of the year business at the next club meeting on February 24, 2026. Stay safe and warm!
