Post 5419 treated the city, county & state workers who gave up so much time to help out during our ice storm to a luncheon today. Words can not express our appreciation for the hard & long work they put in for several days. Thanks, guys!!

Our annual Veterans Christmas Dinner was held December 2nd at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. Our quest speakers were Judge King and Sadie Arterburn. Lots of great food & fellowship. Our VFW Post #5419 wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

We had a special guest tonight at our Post meeting. Carter Shelley, a senior at Cumberland County High School , read his speech he had originally read at the Veterans Brunch on Veterans Day. Cumberland County High School puts on a wonderful Veterans Day program. Our Post awarded certificates and checks to the winners of Voice of Democracy & The Patriots Pen essays. We are so proud of every one of the students who took part in the competition.
