We couldn’t help ourselves when the theme is songs.

It was a great day to head down main street Burke with kids and critters!

Anton and Betty Lou Kost, Renee Sutton’s parents, were long-time supporters of rodeo and the Burke Stampede.

In Renee’s words, “In the spirit of the great American West, Great Dreamers, Achievers, Believers, Heroes, and Legacy Leavers, it is my privilege, along with my brother John and sister Melissa and families, to place our parents, Anton and Betty Lou Kost, on the Wide Open Spaces Wall of Fame."

Their legacy lives on, and we're so thankful for this generous gift.

It's Achievement Days in Gregory County!

Drop by the Civic Center and the rodeo grounds to see what's happening and show your support for local kids. Good luck to the Gregory County 4-H members!

The Mitchell Republic toured Burke last week with our co-founder and president to hear what folks are saying about the future of the rodeo grounds.

It was Burke Stampede Rodeo weekend and spirits were high! And with Gregory County 4-H Achievement Days around the corner, there’s a lot happening out there. Read what the community has to say in the article.

Thanks to Jennifer Leither for a great afternoon and story!

As the 36th annual rodeo returns this weekend, community members say the investment is about preserving more than a three-day event

This years Burke Stampede Rodeo was a great one! We are all grateful for all the support from volunteers and fans!

Well pardners, that's a wrap.

The dust has settled, the trailers are headed home, and the arena's gone quiet. But our hearts are fuller than ever.

We’re thankful for all of you. The fans filling the bleachers. Neighbors helping neighbors. Volunteers who gave countless hours. Sponsors who believed in us. Contestants who traveled miles and miles. Families who made new memories. Kids who left dreaming of becoming the next great cowboy or cowgirl.

The Burke Stampede has never been just about one weekend in July. It's about preserving a way of life built on hard work, grit, and community. Every handshake, every laugh, every cheer reminds us why we do this.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this year's rodeo unforgettable. Whether you worked behind the scenes, competed in the arena, supported a vendor, or showed up and cheered, you are part of our story.

We've got big plans for the future, and we can't wait to bring you along for the ride. Thanks for believing in the Burke Stampede and helping keep this tradition alive.

It's Stampede week! This is the time of year when it's all things rodeo, with so much community support and yee-haws heard near and far.

We'll be there — will you?

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances starting at 7:30.

Burke Stampede Rodeo

07/15/2026

We are the Burke Stampede.

For 36 years, we've put on great rodeo, and we do it all for you, our fans. It's what drives us. It's what fills our cups to the brim and beyond.

As we look ahead, we're dreaming pretty big! Over the past year or so, we collaborated with Gregory County 4-H to develop a plan for the future of our beloved piece of land here in Burke. A new arena, grandstand, more space for youth activities, a music festival, and the list goes on.

We're proud to support Wide Open Spaces Foundation, formed to help us make it come to life.

Now, let's build this, pardners!

One of the best things about the community listening sessions was hearing about what people's dreams are for the rodeo grounds. This comment stands out to us; it's proof that dreaming big is part of who we are around here.

Our final community listening session is tomorrow! Head over to the Bonesteel Community Room at 5:15 to find out more about how we're reimagining the current rodeo grounds and offer your input on how we bring it all to life. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
