We created the Founding 50 to honor folks who have given us so much over the years. These are the ones who showed up for countless 4-H and rodeo events, lending a hand where needed. They don’t do it for recognition. But communities like ours don’t thrive without people like them. Their impact is lasting, and their generosity shapes the future in incredible ways.

While rodeo and 4-H will always be the core activities out here, we are dreaming big about what else we can do on these special grounds. Music and culture, reunions and weddings, community events; it's all on the table!

Stay tuned for upcoming community listening sessions — we can't wait to hear more about what you want to see at the rodeo grounds!

As we continue developing this beautiful stretch of land just southwest of Burke, we’re certainly not creating something new from scratch: We’re building on decades of momentum, and with people who believe that if you create something for your own community first, others will come.

If you’ve been to the Burke rodeo grounds, you get it right away. The view stretches on and on, the perfect place for a warm summer night. We think it’s South Dakota at its very best.

Wide Open Spaces Foundation is helping the Burke Stampede Rodeo and Gregory County 4-H build a space that brings our community together for celebrations and events, big and small. From rodeo to youth events, together, we have the opportunity to create something worthy of this place and the people who call it home.

We're excited to share more about our mission and our plans for the rodeo grounds — the future looks bright!
