A county program has offered trees to qualifying communities. You can see the details at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/publicworks/news/fairfax-county-offers-free-trees-community-organizations The cost of planting and watering them could be paid for from reserves, which budget $30K/year for trees, if they are awarded to us. We agreed to seek advice from CAS as to which species to apply for. Replacing trees that have been removed in recent years would have high priority. But we welcome owner input as to where you would like a tree added in your courtyard.

Fairfax County, Virginia - The program, offered in partnership with Casey Trees, is designed to help community organizations in Fairfax County – such as volunteer groups, civic associations and faith-based organizations.

The snow accumulation has reached 2", so CAS will plow. But they are waiting until the snowfall is finished. They expect to only have to make one sweep.

Because the Conservancy office is closed on Monday, due to inclement weather, we can not access the Commons Community building. So Monday's board meeting will be online only.

We received this reminder from TrashAway that construction debris should not be placed in the trash bins. If it is left on the ground next to the enclosure it will be picked up on Friday by 91 Degrees. But if it is put into bins it will incur additional charges from TrashAway.

While we sympathize with the frustration owners experience when they clear out a parking space and then return to find it occupied by another car, please remember that the HOA does not condone "saving" spaces with personal belongings. The problem is that, since the beginning of our HOA, there have not been enough parking spaces to accommodate the 2 cars per unit for which passes have been given out. We rely on cars coming and going and cannot afford to leave spots empty. This past week has been trying for all of us, and for CAS workers, for whom snow shoveled back into the street, or onto the sidewalk, from parking spaces, made things extra difficult. We ask that you please exercise consideration and cooperation as we navigate this situation together.
