Burkburnett Meals on Wheels Our mission is to promote the nutrition, health, and social well being of each participant and to improve their quality of life.

The Senior Citizens Center was incorporated in May of 1979. It is governed by a Board of Directors which is made up of local citizens of Burkburnett. It does offer social activities such as cards, dominoes, board games, crafting and quilting. Since inception the Center is the local provider of the Burkburnett Meals on Wheels Program. It's Mission/ Purpose is to promote the nutrition, health and social well being of each participant and to improve their quality of life. As a 501 (c) 3 organization it does receive some funding to offset the cost of the Meals on Wheels Program. But it is the love, volunteers and financial contributions of the Burkburnett people that keep the program running. Without the help of volunteers, the center would not be able to participate in the Meals on Wheels program. Please consider this as an invitation to either participate in the noon lunches or be a volunteer for a very worthwhile organization. We Love Our Seniors is an ongoing Fundraising opportunity available to anyone who would like to sponsor / defray the cost of a home bound citizen's meal.

Thankful for an incredible staff and volunteers who serve Burkburnett and Cashion communities. Meals on Wheels is about more than delivering food. For many of the people we serve, that delivery also provides a friendly face, a wellness check, and a reminder that their community cares about them.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to Burkburnett Meals on Wheels through Texoma Gives today.

Today is Texoma Gives, and Burkburnett Meals on Wheels is participating!

Texoma Gives is a regional day of giving that brings communities together to support local nonprofit organizations, and we would love for you to consider supporting Burkburnett Meals on Wheels today.

We serve an average of 180 meals every day to people right here in our community. What many people may not realize is that outside funding only covers a small portion of the meals we serve each day.

We currently have 51 clients whose meals receive reimbursement through federal or Texas Medicare-funded programs, and that reimbursement is only $6.46 per meal.

Our actual average cost to prepare and deliver each meal is approximately $8.63. That means even on the meals that are reimbursed, there is still a gap that must be covered.

That is why days like Texoma Gives are so important to us. Every donation helps us continue preparing and delivering meals to our neighbors in Burkburnett.

If you are able, please consider making a donation to Burkburnett Meals on Wheels through Texoma Gives today. Whether it is $10, $100, $1,000, or more, every contribution helps us continue serving our neighbors.

If you are not able to donate, simply sharing this post can help us reach someone who can.
