Water is Life Walks The theme for the Water is Life Water Walks is the same theme of all the walks, since 2003: “Ni guh Izhi chigay Nibi onji.” (“I will do it for the water.”)

Water is Life Walks ~ to heal our Sacred Waters and bring the People back to the Sacred Water
~ 2011 Ti'Swaq to Bus-Chut-Whut to heal the Deschutes River and Estuary.
~ 2012 Sacred Journey including 28 Sacred Sites from Ti’Swaq to Katadin (coast to coast)
~ 2013 Androscoggin River from Umbagog Lake in Errol, NH to Merrymeeting Bay in Bath Maine
~ 2014 Cheyenne River from Antelope and Dry fork Cre

eks in WY to the Missouri north of Pierre SD
~ 2015 Quinebaug River in Mass and Connecticut
~ 2016 Penobscot River all four branches ~Source to Sea ending at Penobscot Bay in Maine
~ 2017 is in the protocol phase (seeking permission to enter the land and do ceremony from the traditional stewardship holders of those waters

I am posting this late to computer issues honoring the Rosebud Families and their ancestories.
"Today is 150 years since The Battle of the Rosebud in which Oceti Sakowin (Sioux) / Cheyenne / Arapaho forces under Crazy Horse fought a larger, trespassing & invading, force to a stalemate . This precedes the Battle of the Little Big Horn by 8 days. The Cheyenne know this fight as that in which the Woman Saved Her Brother.'
