We’re a community group that works to share positive news, mobilize volunteers & resources, and just do cool sh*t for EHS.

Friends of Evergreen is a grassroots network of alumni, parents and community members who are committed to the success of Evergreen High School, its students, and staff. The group works to provide strategic, fundraising and volunteering support to the school. Friends of Evergreen High School is proud to partner with the Highline Schools Foundation, which serves as our fiscal sponsor. The Highline

Schools Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID # 91-2020506) that works to provide resources to help all Highline Public Schools succeed. Three ways to donate:

Evergreen High School is searching for an Athletic Director to lead us into a brand new era for Evergreen Athletics.

This fall, the new baseball and softball fastpitch fields will be completed with synthetic turf, spectator seating, a batter cage and pitcher warm-up areas. These fields are the last piece of a brand new 237,200-square-foot facility that opened less than a year ago.

Evergreen is looking for an AD that can not only execute safe and high quality athletic programming, but can also work to:
🌲build a culture of high expectations
🌲engage effectively with students, families & community
🌲create feeder pipelines from elementary and community leagues
🌲help student-athletes access scholarships and transition successfully to postsecondary education
🌲develop skills, strength and character of individual athletes and entire teams

After 20 years, we are excited to share a brand new athletic logo for Evergreen High School!

The process started last fall with a community-wide survey which emphasized the importance of honoring shared values of dedication, discipline, strength and resilience. Thank you to everyone who responded to the survey!

We then spent this school year working with a designer and a team of student-athlete leaders, staff leaders and alumni leaders to create a logo that feels modern, bold and unique. The updated Evergreen ‘E’ honors our school history while the tree imagery connects to our name and sense of place here in White Center.

The new athletic logo will be rolled out over time and be used for all athletics-related materials, including team uniforms, spirit wear, signage and athletic communications. It will not replace the EHS shield/crest logo, which will be used primarily for academic purposes.

Now that the new Evergreen HS is completed, next up is to rebuild the remaining middle schools including Cascade Middle School.

Highline Public Schools has a 10 year track record of building schools ON TIME and ON BUDGET. This is rare at a time when many folks don't believe that government can deliver for them. Well, if you've seen the new Evergreen, you know that the district kept its promise to our community!

Right now, the school board is deciding whether to put the community-led construction measure on the November 2026 ballot. Is the measure perfect? No. Was the process perfect? No. But our neighbors developed the best recommendation to ensure that every community in our district gets what it needs (new schools) while balancing fiscal responsibility (saving $44M on the Cascade rebuild).

We’re proud to have led the effort to recognize Tyrone Curry Sr for his decades of service and commitment to Evergreen High School. When we called to tell him, Tyrone simply said: “It’s always been about the students.” 💚

We’re planning for a celebration to honor Tyrone this Fall for cross country season or Spring 2027 for track & field. We will share full details on our page when they are available.

Next week, Cornerstone General Contractors, Inc. will bury this time capsule in front of Evergreen High School to mark the symbolic completion of our new campus. EHS has gathered pictures, letters, spirit swag and a copy of the one of the first Forester yearbooks in 1957 (along with a copy of the 2026 edition).

We are inviting 🌲YOU🌲 to contribute any typed or written memories, photos and other memorabilia to be sealed into the capsule. Please drop off your items at the Evergreen front office by the last day of the school year--Wed, 6/17/26 (attn: Principal Boyer).

The capsule will stay buried until the end of the useful life of this campus (between 50-70 years). A gift for the future Wolverines of 2096!

“It’s a great day to be a…”

Evergreen’s first graduating class, the Class of 1959 knows a thing or two about Wolverines—they selected them as our mascot, and also chose our school colors! 💚

Evergreen's first graduating class--the Class of 1959--dedicated a tree in our new courtyard. This class planted the seeds of our original campus, and it's only fitting that they helped us put down roots on our new campus.

The Class of 1959 also raised more than $40,000 to support our Environmental Studies program, as well as the new greenhouse and urban garden space. Part of the funds have been used to completely outfit the greenhouse with brand new equipment and thousands of seeds; and a portion has been set aside to provide opportunities for our students to do environmental restoration work next year. Thank you '59!

GOOD MORNING! ☀️After a three year journey, Coach B has finally come home to the new Doris Burdin Courts at Evergreen High School.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible -- especially those who donated to our fundraising effort, and partnership from Highline Public Schools and Vanir Construction Management.

The $55,000 we raised paid for this custom plaque, our little dedication event and initial support to our tennis teams. All remaining funds have been invested in an endowment to provide permanent support to the Evergreen Boys & Girls tennis teams in Doris Burdin's honor.

Good luck to both of our tennis teams who made playoffs this year! Go Wolverines!🎾
