HALAU MISSION: To preserve and perpetuate the art of Hula through the teachings and stylings of Ma’iki Aiu Lake. Instructors / Na Kumu Hula: Jaydeen Keli’iho’omalu-Robinson & Melanie Panui
Location: 15811 Ambaum Blvd SW, Burien, WA
All hula classes are on Sundays. Pikake - Beginners, all ages
This class is for all beginners who have no experience or less than two years of hula basics. Kukui - Kupu

This class is for Gracious Aunties & Uncles who want to learn hula for fun and to stay young at heart. No Pressure! Age: 50+
Time: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Maile - Intermediate
This class is for dancers who have at least two or more years of hula training and knowledge of basic hula steps or by instructor approval. Age: 6+
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Lehua - Advanced
Students in this class start at age 13 and have been dancing for 5+ years. They are committed to studying the art of hula and Hawaiian culture. Must own and know how to use common hula implements, including knowledge of basic Hawaiian language. Students must be willing to perform publicly for cultural events. Age: 13+
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Get excited!! Save the date April 18, 2026 for your favorite event of the year, ʻAha Mele. This year the event will be held at the Athletic Center at Tacoma Community College. Itʻs a beautiful large space for all of the entertainment, vendors and activities that you love.

A heartfelt mahalo to everyone who attended and supported the 17th Annual Seattle Slack Key Festival!

This year marked our first time at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, and we’re so happy to share that it worked out beautifully. We loved the sound, the stage, the staff — and maybe most importantly, the parking!

We truly appreciate those of you who traveled a little farther to be part of this special day. Your aloha and enthusiasm made all the difference. The festival wouldn’t be what it is without your continued support, spirit, and love for Hawaiian music and culture.

We hope you loved every moment, and next year we invite you to bring two friends or family members to experience the magic with you — let’s keep growing our Seattle Slack Key Festival ‘ohana!
