Together we're healing towards justice!

The CHOOSE Freedom program is a 14-week transformative initiative designed for young people impacted by gang violence, community violence, gun violence, and incarceration. Our mission is to equip participants with the tools, support, and mindset needed to take control of their future and break free from cycles of harm.

The traumas of incarceration and violence severely impact young people in our community. We believe in a restorative approach to healing and preventing future harm. Instead of perpetuating the cycle of violence and punishment, we can heal and form a stronger community.

This program is for anyone age 12-24 in King or Pierce County who has been impacted by incarceration and/or gun violence. Learn more here: https://choose180.org/choose-freedom

We're still celebrating the impact of our team last year. In 2025, our counseling team:

- facilitated 119 group therapy sessions in schools and facilities
- provided 403 hours of 1-on-1 therapy sessions with participants

CHOOSE Freedom is making an impact in Tacoma.

CHOOSE Freedom is our program designed for young people impacted by gang violence, community violence, gun violence, and incarceration.

- Our team is facilitating a weekly group at Mt. Tahoma High School in response to gun violence in the community impacting young people
- We're working with students at Lincoln High School alongside their Integrated Student Support Specialist multiple times a week
- Our team is also at Foss High School to support students who have been impacted by community violence weekly
