FRC Team 980 ThunderBots has concluded an exciting and successful 2026 competition season.
We competed in 2 district events in CA: Los Angeles and Aerospace Valley. At LA we ranked 19 and went 5-6-0 as the 2nd pick of alliance 8. At AV we ranked 10 and went 7-5-0 as the Captain of alliance 7. We missed qualifying for SCDCMP by just a few points.
Highlights of the year include being an alliance captain, unveiling our neutral zone autonomous at AV, and building on our relationship with our "sister team" FIRST Robotics Team 2404 TNT
Of course, non of this is possible without our sponsors. We thank you for your continued support and strive to develop the future employees, employers and creators of tomorrow.

It's just a few days until Kick Off for the 2026 FRC Season REBUILT presented by Haas!

Team 980 welcomes volunteers in engineering, business, communications and project management. No experience necessary! Just a passion for helping the STEM leaders of tomorrow!

Each January brings a new challenge for FIRST® Robotics Competition (ages 14-18 / grades 9-12) teams. Starting with a Kit of Parts, they design, program, and build industrial-sized robots to play an action-packed game as part of a three-team alliance.

In 360-degree learning guided by mentors, students learn engineering and problem-solving skills as they compete for awards, hone teamwork skills, raise funds to meet team goals, and advance appreciation for STEM in their community.

In REBUILT™ presented by Haas, a new challenge releasing January 10, 2026, FIRST Robotics Competition teams will use engineering skills and re-imagine the past.

🎄✨ Can you believe it’s only TWO WEEKS until Holiday in the Park? ✨🎄

Burbank’s biggest night of the year is almost here — and we’re putting the finishing touches on everything! On Friday, November 21, Magnolia Boulevard transforms into a mile-long winter wonderland filled with hundreds of vendors, dozens of food trucks and booths, and all your favorite local shops open late.

🎶 Check out the brand-new Main Stage on the 3200 block featuring live local acts all night long!
🎅 Santa will be there (of course)… along with Krampus 😈, the Ferris wheel 🎡, and plenty of surprises in between.
💃 Music, lights, dancing, food, shopping — it’s truly something to behold.

We can’t wait to welcome thousands of our friends and neighbors for a night of holiday magic in Magnolia Park. ❤️
