This week we're highlighting a specific gap: girls aging out of foster care face housing instability at disproportionately high rates.

That's why She Ready Foundation focuses on wraparound support, mentorship, life skills, and housing readiness, so young women leave the system with a plan, not just a departure date.

Today is Women's Equality Day, marking the anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the ongoing work toward equity.

She Ready Foundation was founded by Tiffany Haddish on the belief that when women lead, communities rise, and that belief shapes everything we do for the youth in our programs.

Tag a woman who has shaped your journey. We'd love to celebrate her with you.

Story time just got a little more magical. ✨📚

Tiffany Haddish and the She Ready Foundation team visited the Nyack Library to share Layla the Last Black Unicorn with young readers in the community. Kids got to hear a story about identity, courage, and being proud of who they are, and learn more about our mission to support and empower young people in foster care.

Moments like this remind us why representation and encouragement matter so much for our youth. A huge thank you to Dr. Gordon, Desiri, and Leeron, and to everyone at the Nyack Library for making this day one the community won't forget. 💜

World Humanitarian Day honors the people who show up for others, often without recognition.

Our mentors, volunteers, and staff do this work every day for youth impacted by foster care, and we couldn't do what we do without them.

Take a moment today to thank a humanitarian in your own life.

This statistic is hard to read, and it's exactly why our work matters.

Fewer than 1 in 10 former foster youth complete a four-year degree, not because they lack ability, but because they often lack the consistent support system that makes college feel possible.

Through mentorship and academic coaching, She Ready Foundation is working to change that number, one young person at a time.

We are absolutely over the moon to welcome the incredible team at the Black Design Collective as a new She Ready Foundation partner! ✨

Having legendary runway designer Kevan Hall alongside his extraordinary team—including Emmy Award-winning Costume Supervisor Patty Malkin—has been an unforgettable experience for our interns. Together, they’re not just creating wardrobe for our main characters; they’re opening the door to the rich history, artistry, and storytelling power of costume design.

What has made this partnership so special is the spirit of collaboration. Our interns have been invited to learn from true masters while also bringing their own ideas, voices, and creativity to the table.

Thank you to for the introduction to the Black Design Collective; Kevan Hall, Patty Malkin, , Deborah Lee, Deborah Evans Vincent, and the entire team for believing in our young storytellers and reminding them that every stitch, silhouette, and design choice helps tell a powerful story. We can’t wait for everyone to see the magic we’ve created together. 🖤🎬👗

A huge thank you to Selena Kuikahi for pouring her creativity, wisdom, and real-world experience into our She Ready cohort!

Selena gave our interns an inside look at the art of production design—showing them that movie magic isn’t always about having the biggest budget, but about resourcefulness, creativity, and knowing how to make every detail serve the story. She shared invaluable insights into how incredible worlds are built, even when they’re patched together quickly behind the scenes, yet look seamless on camera.

As a Production Designer whose work spans BET, Paramount, ALLBLK, and music videos for artists like Wiz Khalifa and Linda Perry, Selena reminded us that every prop, color palette, and location choice helps tell the story. And we were especially excited to learn that horror is her jam… because that’s right in the wheelhouse of the short film our interns are bringing to life!

Selena Kuikahi is a Los Angeles based Production Designer with a passion for character-driven visual storytelling. Her portfolio includes work for networks like BET, Paramount, and Allblk, as well as music videos for artists such as Wiz Khalifa and Linda Perry. Selena's background as a writer and editor gives her a deep appreciation for the entire creative process, allowing her to design environments that speak to the heart of a story.

Thank you, Selena, for inspiring the next generation of storytellers and showing them that great production design is where imagination meets intention. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the She Ready family.

Today is International Youth Day. Around the world, young people are leading change in their communities, often without the resources or recognition they deserve.

At She Ready Foundation, we believe in putting young people at the center of their own future, through mentorship, resources, and opportunities that build real independence.

Honor a young person in your life today. Better yet, show up for one who needs it.
