A simple bar of soap can become a lifeline. 🧼🧡

On July 8, Zonta Club of Burbank Area member Gloria Salas organized a SOAP Project labeling party, bringing together nearly 30 volunteers to label approximately 1,000 bars of soap and makeup wipes with the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

These items will be delivered to Burbank hotels and motels and placed where potential trafficking victims can discreetly find the hotline number and connect with critical resources.

Thank you to the volunteers from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Peace and Justice Ministry, Burbank Noon Rotary, Burbank Sunrise Rotary, Glendale Soroptimists, and Burbank Business and Professional Women for coming together to make a difference.

Members of our club traveled to Vancouver, Canada, for the 67th Zonta International Convention, held July 11-14, 2026. The convention brought together Zontians from around the world for four days of education, advocacy, fellowship and action to build a better world for women and girls.

Two inspiring club members took the international stage:
- Club President Britt Vaughan appeared on the main stage twice-first as a panelist discussing the future of Zonta International, and again interviewing Zonta award recipients about the impact these opportunities have had on their careers.

- Gloria Salas was recognized for her service as the 2024-2026 Zonta International District 9 Governor, overseeing clubs throughout Arizona, California, Hawaii, Utah and New Mexico. She was thanked on stage for her leadership as the role transitioned to the incoming governor.

Founded in 1936, the Zonta Club of Burbank is part of Zonta International, a global organization of more than 25,600 individuals in 1,070 clubs across 65 countries, working to advance the rights of women and girls through service and advocacy.

We're proud to bring the inspiration, connections and momentum from Vancouver home to Burbank!

You're invited to attend a labeling party for The SOAP Project, a national initiative that puts the National Human Trafficking Hotline number directly into the hands of victims in local motels.

The Zonta Club of Burbank Area needs your help to peel and stick labels onto soap bars before they are distributed. It is fast, easy, and makes a massive difference.

When: Wednesday, July 8 at 4 p.m. (setup begins at 3:30 pm if you want to help)
Where: Buena Vista Library Community Room, 300 N. Buena Vista, Burbank
Time commitment: Just two hours! (We can label hundreds of bars in under an hour if we work together).

Feel free to share the info with your friends and anyone you think might be interested in helping.

With heartfelt gratitude, the Zonta Club of Burbank Area thanks Lynn Lipinski for her dedicated service as President during the 2024–2026 biennium.

Under Lynn’s leadership, our club continued to advocate for women and girls locally and beyond, supporting anti-trafficking legislation, organizing the CARE Walk, hosting a powerful film screening on women’s rights, and leading meaningful awareness efforts through the Red Sand Project and the SOAP Project.

Lynn’s passion, commitment, and steady leadership helped move our mission forward and inspired our members to continue creating lasting impact in our community.

Thank you, Lynn, for leading with heart, purpose, and strength. 💛
