This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, strength, and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in our community and around the world.

Zonta Club of Burbank Area is committed to building a future where every person is treated with dignity, respect, and equal opportunity. Inclusion makes our communities stronger, and we foster a welcoming environment where all individuals feel valued, heard, and empowered.

On April 21st, Zonta Club of Burbank Area was honored to stand alongside Family Service Agency of Burbank at the Burbank City Council meeting to accept a proclamation recognizing Denim Day and the importance of standing together against sexual violence, victim-blaming, and harmful myths around consent.

Then, on Thursday, April 29th, Burbank City Hall lit up blue in honor of Denim Day, with Zonta members in attendance to help bring awareness to this powerful international movement.

Denim Day reminds us that there is never an excuse for sexual assault. What someone wears is never consent. Together, we continue to advocate for survivors, educate our community, and work toward a safer world for women and girls.

Thank you to the City of Burbank and Family Service Agency of Burbank for helping shine a light on this important cause.

Did you know Amelia Earhart was a proud Zontian? ✈️💛

As a member of the Zonta Clubs of Boston and New York, Earhart embodied the courage, leadership, and barrier-breaking spirit Zonta continues to champion today.

Her legacy lives on through the Amelia Earhart Fellowship, supporting women pursuing doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences — helping the next generation of women soar.

We’re participating in the Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash (K.I.D.S.) this year! It’s our second year with a Duck Buddy Team, and we need YOUR help! 🐥

🌟 What an incredible day of connection and inspiration! 🌟

Our Zonta Club of Burbank Area members had an amazing time at the joint Area 3 and 4 meeting, where clubs from across the region came together to share ideas, network, and celebrate our sisterhood!

✨ Representing Burbank Area: Past President and current District 9 Governor Gloria Salas, Past President and current Area 3 Director Britt Vaughan, current President Lynn Lipinski, and member Carla Dillon

🤝 Clubs in attendance: Antelope Valley, Burbank, Newport Harbor, South Bay, Porterville, Riverside, and Santa Clarita

🎤 Keynote highlight: Ann Hertz-Mallari, Commissioner of the Orange County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, delivered an inspiring address

The day was perfectly organized by Lisa Cain (Area 4 Director) and Britt Vaughan (Area 3 Director) with:
• Engaging speakers and a fun game show format
• Delicious food and fellowship activities
• Professional clothing drive for Working Wardrobes
• A meaningful activity where attendees wrote postcards to their future selves with personal growth goals for the next Zonta biennium

These regional gatherings remind us why we're stronger together - advancing gender equity and empowering women worldwide! 💪
