Meet Ms. Juanita Baker. She is kindest and most hardworking lady around, who goes above and beyond for our students! Unfortunately last night Ms. Juanita lost her home to the storm that moved along highway 45. There was no insurance on the home.

With her permission, we ask that you help support her in whatever way you can. Your prayers for her and others affect by this storm are most important. Stay tuned for how you can help financially. This is a message from Buncombe District #43 The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather statement for tonight. With this line of storms, there is a potential for damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes as it moves east across our area late this afternoon into the early morning hours Saturday. We are currently in a Level 4 risk category. Timing remains focused on the evening hours. Buncombe Grade School will be open during the forecasted bad weather Friday evening for as long as needed, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Families are welcome to seek shelter there. The west door by the bike rack will be unlocked. Be safe!

There is also a second Tri State food distribution event January 24th. Mounds area.

Happening one week from today!

Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation and the Tri-State Food Bank will hold a mobile food distribution on Friday, January 10, at our Main campus (8364 Shawnee College Rd. Ullin, IL).

The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and will continue until noon or while supplies last.

117 bags of 25 pairs of shoes= 2,925 lives changed ♥️

In a few weeks, a mother will be able to put shoes on her child's feet to send them to school, someone will have their first pair of dress shoes, a worker will be able to protect their feet on the job site.
You may not feel the impact but your generosity will ripple across the ocean.
Also in a few weeks, we should receive our check for the shoes which will go to help Johnson County Blessings in a Backpack, you or someone you know will feel that impact.

We received shoes from as far North as Champaign and as far South as Murray Kentucky. I couldn't possibly tag everyone that helped because so many of you did and so many of you I don't even know. Thank you for your generosity ♥️

The company picking up the shoes just called and will be at the storage building at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow! So anybody who wants to help sling some bags or shoes come on down!
This is the final step before we get weighed and get our funding for this project and we can get that money distributed!! Please send me a message if you can spare enabled body person to help load a few bags it should take no more than 15 minutes

Dec 11th-13th students can shop for their families and friends. It's always such a joy to watch them ponder over the perfect gift for their loved ones and its a great money management exercise!

We are in need of helpers to wrap gifts and could use some gift bags and wrapping paper.

This bag 👇 is #100!!!!!

And I have some more shoes but I've run out of bags at the moment. Collection boxes will be picked up next weekend but they told us we could collect up until the day the truck comes which should be a week after Nov 15th. Please send us a message if you have shoes that need picked up or you need to know where a Dropbox is.
