Hello ๐Ÿค—! Here is our next blessing to be thankful for. It comes from 1st Samuel 7:1-2 "So the men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD. They took it to Abinidab's house ๐Ÿ  on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the LORD." We notice that the men of Kirjath-Jearim were very willing to attend the ark of the LORD, while the men of Beth-shemesh, by their own folly made that a burden which might have been a blessing. Those who attend to the ark of the LORD,which is a type of Christ, will find it to be a savor of life ๐Ÿงฌ unto life ๐Ÿงฌ. We may depend upon the word of God, (Jeremiah 25:6) "Provoke me not, and I will do you no hurt." We should carefully provide for the ark's decent entertainment among ourselves, as a welcome ๐Ÿ˜ guest, with true affection, and as an honorable guest, with respect and reverence. Those who know this will do this and will be blessed. Invite Christ into your life and home and entertain him with honor and reverence and he will repay with his loving-kindness. Thank you. This is a wonderful blessing to be thankful for.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹! Today we finally leave the word ability and move on to Abimelech from Genesis 21:22-24 "And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: Now therefore sware unto me here by God that thou wilt not ๐Ÿšซ deal ๐Ÿค falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done ๐Ÿ‘โœ… unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land where in thou thou hast sojourned. And Abraham said, I will swear." Here is an account of a treaty between Abimelech and Abraham, and that promise is accomplished that was made i (Genesis 12:2), that God would make his name great, and this is a blessing to be thankful for. Abraham's friendship is valued and courted, even though he is a stranger, a tenant at will to the Canaanites and Perizzites. The league of alliance is proposed by Abimelech, and Phicol his prime-minister of state and general of his army. What induced it? It was God's favor to Abraham, "God is with thee in all that thou doest." We can't help but take notice of this because of what Psalms 1:3 says, "And he shall be like a tree ๐ŸŒด planted by the rivers of water ๐Ÿ’ฆ, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." God in his providence sometimes shows his people such tokens for good ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜Š that their neighbors cannot but help to notice. This is a blessing to be thankful for. It is also good ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜Š being in favor with those that are in favor with God. Thank you. Coming next will be our two week report, and we have a special blessing for you also. All these things will be on Patrick Hall's page.

Hello ๐Ÿค—! Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. Hey, if you weren't there this morning ๐ŸŒ„ at Central Baptist Church in Evadale Texas, you missed a terrific worship hour. Anytime a little girl that you have never had any correspondence with waves at you as you come down the isle after preaching a Spirit led message, and you wave back and she waves again, ooh! It warms your heart. You know it was the Spirit inside her that led her to do that. Thank you LORD, and Hallelujah! We will tell you all about this terrific worship hour next week during our two weeks update. Tonight, as we watch the Stanley Cup playoffs, with the Montreal Canadians hosting the Buffalo Sabres, we should be reminded of the blessing set forth by the writings of the Spirit -led James in James 3:2-4, about how the tongue ๐Ÿ‘… governs the whole body, "We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check โœ”๏ธโœ…. When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn ๐Ÿ›ž the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go." We are taught to govern our tongue ๐Ÿ‘… so as to prove ourselves perfect and upright men. When we do this we have an entire government over ourselves. The one whose conscience is affected by tongue ๐Ÿ‘…-sins, and takes care to avoid them, is an upright man, and no doubt ๐Ÿง about it, this is a sign and a blessing to be thankful for of true grace. The wisdom and grace which enables one to rule his tongue ๐Ÿ‘… will also enable that person to rule all his actions. This is proven by two comparisons. (1) The governing and guiding of all the motions of a horse ๐Ÿด๐ŸŽ, by the bit which is put in to the mouth. We put bits into the horse's mouths, that they may obey us, and we turn ๐Ÿ›ž about their whole body. (Psalms 39:1)"I said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue ๐Ÿ‘… from sin, I will put a muzzle on my mouth ๐Ÿ‘„ as long as the wicked are in my presence." The more quick and lively the tongue ๐Ÿ‘… is, the more we should take care to govern it. Otherwise, an unruly and ungovernable horse ๐ŸŽ runs away with his rider, or throws him, so an unruly tongue ๐Ÿ‘… will serve those in like manner who have no command over it. So let resolution and watchfulness, under the influence of the grace of God, bridle the tongue ๐Ÿ‘…, and then all the motions and actions of the whole body will be easily guided and overruled. (2) The governing of a ship ๐Ÿšข by the right ๐Ÿ‘ management. Look at ships, which are great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘, and are driven of fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm wherever the governor goes. The helm is a very small part of the ship ๐Ÿšข, so is the tongue ๐Ÿ‘… a very small part of the body: but the right ๐Ÿ‘ governing of the helm or rudder will steer and turn ๐Ÿ›ž the ship ๐Ÿšข as the governor pleases. What we learn is beautiful and in some ways a blessing to be thankful for, in how a small bulk may yet be of great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘ use. Thank you. Be sure ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and check โœ… out Something Interesting on that page tomorrow evening as we introduce the mindsports game of Stratego.

Hello ๐Ÿค—! Our blessings to be thankful for tonight comes from Titus 1:9, and again we used the word ability. Now the apostle Paul is giving instructions to Titus to set up elders or bishops, but this also applies to believers, "Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers." Here is our duty. Hold fast the faithful word as you have been taught, keeping close to the doctrine of Christ, the word of his grace, adhering according to the instructions you have received - holding the word fast in your own belief and profession, and in teaching others. The word of God revealed to us in scripture is true and infallible because Christ is the true and faithful witness, and his Spirit guided the penmen of it. Paul's comfort was I have kept the faith, and that's a blessing to be thankful for that we are comforted because of our faith in the word of God
Paul knew that by sound doctrine he could both exhort and convince the gainsayers, drawing others to the true faith. So it's a blessing that Paul was not uncertain or unsteady or failed to hold fast that faithful word. Holding fast to that faithful word and sound doctrine is the matter of this teaching and is the means and grounds for convincing those who opposed the truth. This is the great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ‘ work of the ministry, to exhort those who are willing to know and do their duty and convince those that contradict by sound doctrine. Sound doctrine is by scripture arguments and testimonies, which are the infallible words of truth. Thank you. Be sure and be looking for our two week update tomorrow on the Patrick Hall page, and tomorrow on Something Interesting we will see how understanding the mindsports game of Risk can help us in our spiritual walk from a Christian perspective. Thank you.

Hello ๐Ÿค— Last night we gave a retirement ceremony to our beloved pastor Brother Roger and his wife Sister Dianne in appreciatiation of their 21 years of service to Central Baptist Evadale and the Evadale community. In honor of that service we here at Blessings to Be Thankful for have dedicated this week's ministry as well as all the ministries we have to Brother Roger and Sister Dianne. We didn't get to post anything yesterday,so we will do it now. This week's blessing, being dedicated to Brother Roger and Sister Dianne, naturally we found a blessing to be thankful for from Luke 9:10 from the New King James Version of the Bible, since it was always Brother Roger's choice. And we will use that version all this week in the rest of our ministries. "And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then he took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida." Brother Roger and Sister Dianne were servants just like these disciples who were sent on an errand. After they told all that they had accomplished through Christ's power he took them for a little breathing, into a private desert place, that they might have some relaxation from business and not ๐Ÿšซ be always upon the stretch of that business. He that hath appointed our man- servant and maid-servant to rest would have his servants to rest too. This is a blessing to be thankful for. Those in the most public stations, and that are most publicly useful, must sometimes go aside privately, both for the repose of their bodies, to recruit them, and for the furnishing of their minds by meditation for further public work. With that in mind here are a couple works of the many that these two did in their ministry at Central Baptist Evadale church and Community. We will present two at all six ministries for a total of 12. Brother Paul and his family said, "Brother Roger helped to move a porch and a dogpen." Brother Calvin and his family said, "Brother Roger has been here for family, church and Community, always willing to give a hand โœ‹ for anything." We will have more this evening on Something Interesting Ministry on that page. We will introduce the mindsports game of "Risk," one of my favorite games. Also, with Brother Roger's retirement, other pastors and laymen pastors will be stepping in to preach on Sunday mornings and evenings. This coming Sunday morning Brother Landon Wright will be preaching. So y'all come out Sunday morning to Sunday School and then attend Church services and worship and receive some powerful preaching from a young laymen pastor who's been very instrumental in helping Brother Jonathan, our Pastor of Students, and I am sure one who Roger has mentored and supported. The following Sunday morning ๐ŸŒ…, as far as I know yours truly, Brother Patrick Hall will be filling in and preach the Sunday morning service on May 10, Mother's Day at Central Baptist Evadale Church. The message will be about dreams, so there will be a message included that concerns mothers. So make plans to come ๐Ÿซด . Also a little later on this evening ๐ŸŒ† we will have ministries for our youth from Jesus' teaching on laying up your treasures from Matthew 6. Thank you.

Hello ๐Ÿค—! Welcome ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜ to Blessings to Be Thankful for. We continue to find blessings from the word ability. This time it's from Romans 15:14, and it concerns Paul's ministry. "And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full ๐ŸŒ of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish (instruct) one another." The apostle Paul commends these Roman Christians with the highest characters he possibly could. He began this epistle with their praises, "Your faith is spoken of throughout the world ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ." He concludes with a likewise commendation, to qualify them and part as friends. That's a blessing to be thankful for. Paul acknowledged their due worth, and of the grace of God in them. This teaches us to be forward in our commendations which are excellent ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘ and praise-worthy. It is part of the present recompenรงe of virtue and usefulness. It was a great credit to be commended by Paul, a man of such great judgment and integrity, he was too skillful to be deceived and too honest to flatter. Boy, if that's not ๐Ÿšซ a blessing to be thankful for! Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. Paul only knew of them through what others were saying about them concerning their excellencies. Paul said they were able to admonish or instruct one another. This you do in love ๐Ÿ’•. Those that have goodness and knowledge should communicate what they have for the use and benefit of others, and that's a blessing to be thankful for. Thank you.

Hello ๐Ÿค—! It's time for Blessings to Be Thankful for. Again we have found another blessing from the word ability, this time it's from Luke 21:15 "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom ๐Ÿ˜€, which all your adversaries shall not ๐Ÿšซ be able to gainsay nor resist." Don't depend upon your own wit and ingenuity, your own prudence and policy, and don't distrust the immediate and extraordinary aids of the divine grace. This proves Christ to be God. It's God's prerogative to give wisdom ๐Ÿ˜€, and it is he that made man's mouth. It is a blessing to be thankful for, that a man's mouth and wisdom is fit for both services and sufferings. He needs wisdom ๐Ÿ˜€ to know what to say, and a mouth ๐Ÿ‘„ to say as it should be said. It's a great happiness ๐Ÿ˜Š to have both matter and words to honor God and do good ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š. Those that plead Christ's cause may depend upon him to give them a mouth ๐Ÿ‘„ and wisdom ๐Ÿ˜€. A mouth is given to answer for ourselves, and this puts honor upon us, because it requires us to use the gifts and graces that Christ furnishes us with, and this gives glory to God, who stills the enemy and the avenger out of the mouths of babes and sucklings who have performed praise. When Christ gives to his witnesses both a mouth ๐Ÿ‘„ and wisdom ๐Ÿ˜€, their adversaries can't say anything true against it or resist. In this way they are silenced, and put to confusion. This was remarkably fulfilled after the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, especially when the apostles were brought before the priest sanhedrin rulers and answered them, so as to make them ashamed in Acts chapters 4-6. Thank you. Later today we will have a two week update for you on the Patrick Hall profile page.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹! Tonight's blessing once again comes from the word ability, and it concerns Jesus Christ, (Hebrews 2:18) "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." This shows Christ's passion. Hebrews 4:15 says, "He was in all things tempted as we are, yet without sin." Christ is able because he is touched with a feeling of our infirmities, as a sympathizing physician, tender and skillful; he knows how to deal ๐Ÿค with tempted sorrowful soul, because he has been himself sick of the same disease, not ๐Ÿšซ of sin, but of temptation and trouble ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ of soul. This is a blessing to be thankful for, that the remembrance of his own sorrows and temptations makes him mindful of the trials of his people, and ready to help them. Thank you. Be sure and check out our Something Interesting page tomorrow, we will stay in the mind sports game of dominoes and cover the game of Texas 42.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹! Tonight we will continue to find blessings from the word ability ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒ„. This time we look at Philippians 3:21 "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious ๐Ÿ˜€ body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." When we die there will be a change in our body, we shall be conformed to the image of his Son, that he may be the first -born among many brethren. There is a power that wroughts this change, it's an efficacy of power, an exceeding greatness of power, and the working of a mighty power, and it is a matter of comfort and blessing to us that he (Jesus Christ) can subdue all things to himself, and sooner or later will bring over all into his interest. And the resurrection will be wrought by this power. "I will raise him up at the last day, (John 6:44). Let this confirm our faith of the resurrection, that we not ๐Ÿšซ only have the scriptures, which assure is it shall be, but we know the power of God, which can effect it, (Matthew 22:29-30) "Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not ๐Ÿšซ knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels ๐Ÿ˜‡ of God in heaven."

Hello ๐Ÿค—! Today's Blessings to Be Thankful for comes from Matthew 9:28 "And when he was come into the house, the blind ๐Ÿฆฏ๐Ÿฆฎ men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord." Christ drew a confession of faith from the blind ๐Ÿฆฏ๐Ÿฆฎ men. When they came to him for mercy, he asked them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? Faith is the great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘ condition of Christ's favors, to receive mercy one must firmly believe the power of Christ, and firmly believe he is able to do it. This proved to be an illustrious blessing to be thankful for for they could now see through a spiritual blessing from Christ by their faith. It is good ๐Ÿ˜Š to be particular in the exercise of faith, and to apply the general assurances of God's power and good ๐Ÿ˜Š will., and general promises, to our particular urgencies, needs and demands; all shall work for good ๐Ÿ˜Š, and if all, then this "Believe ye that I am able," not ๐Ÿšซ only to prevail with God for it, as a prophet, but that I am able to do it by my own power?" This amounts to their belief of him being not ๐Ÿšซ only the Son of David, but the Son of God; for it is God's prerogative to open the eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ of the blind ๐Ÿฆฏ๐Ÿฆฎ, (Psalms 146:8) "The LORD openeth the eyes ๐Ÿซฉ of the blind ๐Ÿฆฏ: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down ๐Ÿ‘‡: the LORD loveth the righteous." We must believe that Christ is able to do for us, by the power of his merit and intercession in heaven, of his Spirit and grace in the heart, and of his providence and dominion in the world ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ. We assure ourselves of his power, commit ourselves to his power, and encourage ourselves in his power. Thank you. Tomorrow on Something Interesting page we will begin a study on the mind sports game of dominoes.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹! Today we will continue to look at the word ability, and find blessings. Our blessings for the day is found in (Jude verses 24-25) "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." The apostle concludes this epistle with a solemn a scription of glory to the great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ God. God is able to keep us from falling, and present us faultless before the presence of his glory. God is able to do this to those whose faults shall not be attributed, to their ruin, and that is because of God's mercy and our Savior's merits. And this is a blessing to be thankful for. The glory of the Lord will shortly be present, but for now we look at it from a distance, and many look upon it as uncertain, but it will come ๐Ÿซด, and it will be manifest and apparent
Every eye ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ shall see him, (Revelation 1:7). This is now the object of our faith, but soon we shall shortly see ๐Ÿ™ˆ, to our unspeakable joy and comfort, and to the unbeliever's terror and sudden alarming dread that will result in utter confusion and dismay. All real sincere believers shall be presented, and the Lord Redeemer's appearance and coming, the glorious head of the Church, with our reward in his hand. How happy ๐Ÿ˜ a blessing is that! The Father gave them to the Son and he has lost none, but he will present them perfectly holy and happy ๐Ÿ˜, when he as our Mediator will surrender his kingdom to his God and our God, his Father and our Father, (John 6:39) "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me (Jesus), that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day." Then look at what we find in (1st Corinthians 15:22-24) "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the end ๐Ÿ”š, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down ๐Ÿ‘‡ all rule and all authority and power." Be of good cheer; if we be sincere, we shall be presented faultless. Have you ever been faultless in your life? I surely haven't. But that's the way we will be seen, totally faultless, for where there is no sin there will be no sorrow. Another blessing to be thankful for. They just keep coming. Where there is the perfection of holiness, there will be the perfection of joy. Can you imagine joy being perfected? What will that look like? Let's fix a hearty Amen to this, because the God who can and will do this is worthy to have glory, majesty, dominion, and power ascribed to him, both now and for ever! Because Christ is indeed the first-fruits of those who slept, he has truly risen himself, and he has risen himself, in this very quality and character, as the first-fruits of those who sleep in him. As sure as Christ has arisen, there is as much an earnest given that the dead in him shall rise as there was that the Jewish harvest in general should be accepted and blessed by the offering and acceptance of the first -fruits. The whole lump was made holy by the consecration of the first-fruits, and the whole body of Christ, all that are by faith united to him, are by his resurrection assured of their own. What a glorious blessing to be thankful for! The lump is holy because the first-fruits offering is holy, and they shall rise, because Christ has arisen! Thank you. Coming next we will give a two week update on the Patrick Hall page.
