When experience, research, and innovation come together, the impact can reach far beyond the walls and borders!

We are proud to have partnered with ASR Systems in research involving the TITAN CSRĀ® Retractor. The Titan Retractor was named the top-performing self-retaining surgical retractor in a newly published independent U.S. Department of War study evaluating surgical tools for forward-deployed trauma care.

Conducted at the Centre with the U.S. Air Force 59th Medical Wing and Brooke Army Medical Center, the research compared the TITAN CSRĀ® with several other surgical retractors. Titan Retractor delivered the greatest surgical exposure, received the highest usability ratings from military surgeons, and was identified as the most effective option for combat surgery, damage-control surgery, and austere medical environments.

They may not always be the faces at the front of the room, but they are an essential part of what happens inside it!

The Centreā€™s Lab Techs are a remarkable group of highly motivated and well-trained students, many of whom are pursuing futures in medicine and healthcare. Working alongside our experienced faculty and laboratory team, they gain invaluable hands-on exposure while playing an important role in helping our educational programs run smoothly.

From preparing the lab and supporting faculty, to assisting throughout courses and ensuring the countless details behind each hands-on experience are handled, our Lab Techs show up ready to learn, work hard, and contribute.

The Centre provides a unique opportunity to learn in an environment that goes far beyond the classroom giving them an early look into medicine, anatomy, procedural education, teamwork, and the level of excellence expected in healthcare.
