📢 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ROCK CREEK ELDERS

Please see the attached notice regarding upcoming changes to the NFE meal service schedule.

Beginning Friday, October 9, 2026, all NFE sites will be closed to the public on Fridays until further notice for staff to complete cleaning, inventory, maintenance, and administrative work.

Additionally, Rock Creek Elderly meal services will be closed Thursday, October 8th through Tuesday, October 13th, 2026.

🍽️ Meal services will resume Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

📢 FY27 ROCK CREEK DISTRICT BUDGET REQUESTS

Rock Creek District Organizations, Groups, Committees, American Legion Posts, and other community organizations:

Any organization or group that plans to request funding from the FY27 Rock Creek District budget is asked to submit a detailed budget request along with a narrative explaining how the requested funds will be used.

Please include:

* Organization/Group name
* Total amount requested
* Each budget line item and the amount requested
* A brief narrative explaining what each line item will be used for
* Any additional information that supports your funding request

📅 Budget requests are due by Monday, September 21, 2026.

Please have your requests ready to be turned in during the Regular Rock Creek District Meeting.

The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Central Corson County in north central South Dakota...North Central Dewey County in north central South Dakota...

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 417 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from near Black Horse to near Firesteel, or along a line from 19 miles
west of Bullhead to 7 miles west of Timber Lake, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near... Firesteel around 420 PM CDT.
Black Horse, Klein Ranch and Timber Lake around 425 PM CDT.
Mcintosh around 450 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by the severe thunderstorm include Standing
Rock Nation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
large hail.
