Many people think of a GUILD as a labor union, (i.e. the Writers or Screen Actors Guild) Our definition is: An organization of persons with related interests, goals, etc., especially one formed for mutual aid or protection... and we have created just such an organization to support the speaking industry. Co-Founder Marshall Chiles and I are grateful to our Founding Members: Bob Burg, Molly Fletche
r, Dr. Shirley Raines, Dr. Randy Ross, Ricardo Gonzalez, Alan Schaefer, Ava Diamond, Sharon Frame, Jeremie Kubicek, Steve Cockram, and Steve Akinboro. The Vision: To make a positive impact with every speaking opportunity. Mission: To create a community, which consistently provides world class service to speakers, organizers, and attendees. Values: Integrity, Service, Charity, Humility, Community, Education, Collaboration, Mentorship, Relationships
Founding Members are individuals whose values are congruent with those of the guild and who have a passion for supporting the mission. These individuals are committed to being champions for the organization. Founding members may or may not be in the speaking industry, and are also eligible to become Masterclass Members. Masterclass Members are individuals whose values are congruent with those of the guild, have already proven themselves to be speakers of significance, and/or who have expertise in speaking related areas that would justify their involvement with the guild. Guild Members are individuals whose values are congruent with the Guild and who have become proficient speakers as outlined by the guilds proficiency requirements. These memberships are by invitation only. Recommendations for membership can come from Founding, Master Class, or other Guild Members. Associate Members are those individuals who are striving to become better speakers and wish to attain a level of proficiency that would allow them to become full guild members.
