Our garden is growing… and so is Above The Rim Buford. 🌱

There’s something philosophical about planting seeds. You water them faithfully, often before you ever see results. That’s how this mission has felt. Quiet acts of love, meals served, games played, conversations had, and little by little… growth happens.

We are building more than a program. We are cultivating hope, community, and a safe place for kids to grow.

We’ve had several inquiries about registration, so we wanted to share our registration link again.

Please remember that Above the Rim Buford is always completely free for all kids. We simply ask families to complete the registration form so we can plan meals appropriately and make sure we have accurate emergency contact information for each child.

We are so incredibly grateful for this rain! 🌧️🌱 Hen’s Garden is absolutely exploding with goodness right now. Tomatoes, basil, zucchini, potatoes, onions, cilantro, and so much more are growing every single day. Watching these kids plant, water, learn, and now harvest has been such a beautiful reminder that when you pour into something with love and consistency…growth will come.

Today was everything summer should feel like. Homemade ice cream sandwiches, basketball games, full bellies, laughter echoing through the gym, and kids just getting to be kids. These are the moments that matter.

But moments like this don’t happen without support from people who believe in what we’re doing at Above The Rim Buford. Every meal served, every activity planned, every seed planted, every light turned on, and every safe afternoon for these kids is made possible because people choose to give, volunteer, and stand beside us.

We are heading into a busy summer serving thousands of meals and creating a safe place for kids to grow, learn, and belong. If you’ve ever thought about helping, now is the time. Whether it’s donating food, supplies, sponsoring a meal, volunteering, or simply sharing our mission, it truly makes a difference.

This little garden is proof that small seeds can grow into something powerful. The same goes for this community. ❤️

That’s how many meals we are projected to serve to children at Above The Rim Buford this year alone.

Read that again.

Seven thousand two hundred and eight meals.

208 days open.

Hundreds of kids.

Countless lives being impacted.

Some kids come for basketball.

Some come for the food.

Some come because they simply need a safe place to land.

What many people do not realize is that every single meal, every basketball, every tutoring session, every light bill, every cleaning supply, every ride, and every opportunity costs money.

And the most beautiful part?

Nobody at Above The Rim Buford gets paid.
Not the volunteers.
Not the workers.
Not the mentors.

People show up day after day because they genuinely love these kids and believe this generation deserves better.

We are asking our community to help us continue this mission.
