In honor of Women’s History Month, we are commemorating prominent female figures’ achievements as well as their importance. First, we have Buffalo’s own, Beverly R. Gray✨.

Ms. Gray was a local entrepreneur in her community. She founded a daycare center called The Ujama Family Day Care. Also was an originator of local support groups for black women who have breast cancer🙏🏿.

She was also elected as Council member at large for the City of Buffalo. She was recognized for her natural ability to plan, develop, and implement projects.

A miraculous leader and caring person. Today, we honer the late Beverly Gray🖤.

An all-Black collegiate swimming and diving team won its first conference championship over the weekend, making history during Black History Month.‼️‼️

Howard University's swimming and diving team took home the 2023 title of the Northeast Conference Men's Swimming and Diving champions on Saturday.
"It's the first conference title for our men's program in 34 years, and it feels amazing," said Nicholas Askew, coach of Howard's swimming and diving team. "It just feels phenomenal to know that there's this group of young men and young women who believed that it was possible, even when we were first getting started and all kinds of things were not going our way."🖤💫
