IN MEMORIAM OF RETIRED BEDFORD HILLS CF OFFICER
Honoring the Life & Legacy of Brother Robert Bonner
With profound sadness, we acknowledge the passing of our brother, Robert Bonner, a retired NYS Correctional Officer from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, New York.
Brother Bonner served with distinction in the field of corrections and was respected as a member of the correctional family. Beyond his professional service, he was also a gifted and anointed accomplished drummer and musician, whose talent reached far beyond Buffalo.
Known by many as a drummer par excellence, Robert shared his God-given musical gifts with numerous bands, musical organizations, and communities throughout Buffalo, across New York State, and beyond. His rhythm, musicianship, passion, and presence made an indelible impact on those who had the privilege of hearing him play and working alongside him.
Today, we pause to remember a brother, a colleague, a musician, and a friend.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his son, mother, family, loved ones, friends, fellow correctional officers, retired officers, and the many members of the music community whose lives were touched by his extraordinary gift.
May the legacy of Robert Bonner’s service, his music, and the lives he touched continue to live on.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Gone from our sight, but never forgotten. Arrangements are forthcoming.
