🌍 The future of our Eco Campus begins with community.

Thanks to the kind souls who supported Open Buffalo's Eco Campus Community Cleanup Event last Friday.

Tomorrow, we’re bringing the community together for an important conversation on the current state of voting rights in America and what it means for our future.

As attacks on voting access continue nationwide and recent Supreme Court decisions weaken protections once guaranteed under the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the need for informed, community-centered dialogue has never been more urgent.

In Louisiana v. Callais, the Court didn’t formally strike down Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, they just made it nearly impossible to use. Justice Kagan called it “all but a dead letter.” Know the difference.

Max represented Team OB by speaking on an Environmental Justice panel Saturday, alongside Dr. Monica Miles of Mother Earth Literacies, LLC and Dwight Lowe of . Max talked about our East Side Soil Project, Soul 2 Sol Just Transition Trainings, Rooted in Buffalo composting program, and exciting updates about our Eco Campus!

Engagements like this are so energizing and rewarding. Thanks to Zeneta B. Everhart and Kelly Galloway of Project Mona's House for all that they do to make Caucus happen each year!

Open Buffalo Eco Campus Cleanup Event! 🌍

Please join the Open Buffalo crew as we begin clearing the future home of the Open Buffalo Urban Ecology Campus (Eco Campus). In case you hadn't heard, we've made major strides toward making the Eco Campus vision a reality, including a robust community engagement campaign to co-design the elements of the future campus and acquiring 7 acres of green space on Person Street (off Broadway)!

The next step in returning this disinvested and under-appreciated parcel of land to active community use is cleaning it of trash and debris!

Please join us for this afternoon cleanup event, walk the campus alongside us, and see the vision.

We will have water and snacks on site. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty, including pants and a long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt.
