Plenty of fun and service to be had at the Naval Park!

⚓ Troop 27 in action!

During their September 26–27 overnight stay aboard the USS Little Rock at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park, Troop 27 Scouts volunteered their time to help with much-appreciated projects aboard the USS Croaker. From painting repaired deck areas to cleaning throughout the submarine, everyone pitched in!

Their hard work was even featured in the park’s newspaper! Thank you to our Scouts for lending a hand and helping preserve a piece of naval history. We’re proud of your service! 🇺🇸

On this day in 1943, the Fletcher Class Destroyer U.S.S. The Sullivans (DD-537) was commissioned. The ship was named for the five Sullivan brothers that perished when their ship, the USS Juneau (CL-52), was sunk in November of 1942 during the Battle of Guadalcanal. The ship earned 9 battle stars during WWII and 2 during the Korean War. The ship is a National Historic Landmark and docked at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Serviceman's Park. It is the home of our own district Sea Scout Ship 537.
