We are incredibly excited to share that The Bright Beacon has been awarded $40,000 through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund in partnership with O’Bannon Bank! 💜

The Bright Beacon is proud to be a recipient of the Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund Award through partnership with O’Bannon Bank. This award will invest $40,000 into our community and support our work providing safe shelter, housing assistance, advocacy, and resources to survivors of domestic violence as they work toward safe, stable, independent futures.

For survivors leaving domestic violence, finding safety is only the first step. Building a life after abuse often means securing housing, overcoming financial barriers, accessing resources, and having someone beside you through the process. Funding like this allows us to continue doing exactly that.

We are so grateful to O’Bannon Bank for choosing to invest in The Bright Beacon and the survivors we serve, and to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for making this incredible opportunity possible.

$40,000 means more than funding. It means more survivors have a pathway from crisis to stability—from simply finding safety to truly building a brighter future. 💜🏠

The Bright Beacon has officially been awarded Missouri's 70% Domestic Violence Shelter Tax Credit for another year!

This is incredible news for our supporters because your generosity can go even further. Eligible donations may qualify for a 70% Missouri state tax credit, making it one of the most impactful ways to support survivors of domestic violence in our community.

✨ Last year alone, our donors received $37,202 in Missouri tax credits while helping provide safe shelter, advocacy, and hope for women and children seeking a brighter future.

Our Volunteers Are the Heart of Bright Beacon

Every act of kindness creates hope, and today we want to recognize the incredible volunteers who make our mission possible.

Because of your compassion and dedication, survivors receive support in so many meaningful ways. Thank you to those who:

A heartfelt thank you to New To You Thrift Store for generously donating emergency clothing items to Bright Beacon!

When families flee abusive situations, they often leave with only the clothes they are wearing. Donations like these help restore comfort, dignity, and hope during an incredibly difficult time.

We are so grateful for community partners like New To You for helping us meet the immediate needs of survivors and their children as they begin their journey toward safety, healing, and independence. Your kindness makes a real difference in the lives of the families we serve.

✨ What a Wonderful Night of Healing and Connection! ✨

Our most recent support group meeting was a special "Celebrating Ourselves" Self-Care Night with a fun sleepover theme! We spent the evening focusing on healing, self-worth, laughter, and connection while enjoying lots of goodies and encouragement.

A heartfelt thank you to The Nail Barn, 417 Dragonfly Esthetics, and Twin Crescent Drive-In Theater for their generous donations and gifts that made our evening even more meaningful. Your kindness helped create a memorable experience for everyone who attended.

We are incredibly grateful for our community and for the dedicated volunteers and participants who continue to show up, support one another, and walk alongside each other on the healing journey. Your strength, compassion, and encouragement make a difference every month.

💜 Nice job, Dallas County! Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community.
