WNY Coalition for the Homeless This year, more than 5,600 individuals will become homeless in Buffalo and Erie County.

The Western New York Coalition for the Homeless is an association of service providers and concerned individuals who have joined together to empower and advocate for people in need of safe, affordable, and permanent housing and related services. They will live on the streets, in abandoned houses and cars, in homeless shelters, or surf from couch to couch, not knowing where their next meal will come from or if they will have a safe place to sleep tomorrow.

It kicks in when temps dip under 32 degrees. Shelters are open for the night, providing a place to sleep, food and other services.

🎁 Holiday Toy Assistance Program 2025 🎁

CAO of WNY’s Adult Services Division is proud to partner once again in the WNY Holiday Partnership to help bring joy to local families this season!

Families in need with children ages 0–12 can apply for holiday gifts by appointment between November 3 – December 12 (while supplies last).

100 Leroy Ave., Suite 290, Buffalo, NY 14214

🕘 Hours:
Mondays & Tuesdays: 9 AM – 1 PM (by appointment only)
Wednesdays: 12:30 PM – 4 PM (by appointment only)
Thursdays: 12:30 PM – 4 PM (walk-ins welcome)
📅 Closed on November 11, 27, and 28

✅ Applicants must bring all required documentation, including:
Picture ID
Proof of residence
Proof of income for the past 30 days
Social Security cards for all household members
Eligibility is based on income (see flyer for details).

CAO of WNY’s Community Action Rental Assistance Fund (CARAF Phase 3) is here to help! Eligible households can receive up to $650 toward past due rent or mortgage.
