SMART - (Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Team) SMART friends and family are dedicated to funding biomedical research that is aimed at finding a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

Admission: $25 a person or $50 a family (Includes food, drinks, games and activities.) SMART friends and family are dedicated to funding biomedical research that is aimed at finding a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA

) and other neuromuscular diseases. Our collective mission for these fundraising efforts is one of hope – hope for a better life, hope for a brighter future and hope that we can help identify new treatments and ultimately a cure for children and adults affected by SMA and similar diseases. Since 2006, SMART (including the grassroots efforts that preceded its official formation in 2009) has raised over $1 million for the sole purpose of funding SMA research. Thanks to the efforts and support of so many SMART benefactors, each year for SMART has been more successful than the last. Our organization is solely run by volunteers with a mission of love. Consequently, SMART is pleased and honored to be able to award grants to so many talented researchers working towards a cure for SMA. It’s only been through the amazing generosity of its supporters that SMART has been able to fund these investigators and to help drive real progress in SMA research.
