Bunkers in Baghdad is a not-for-profit charity that collects and sends new and used golf balls, clubs and equipment to deployed soldiers and veterans.

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landing, when 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to liberate France. The courage and sacrifice displayed that day by U.S. troops, as well as those from Canada and the United Kingdom, remains simply unimaginable, as more than 9,000 Allied troops were killed or wounded.

Though costly, historians consider D-Day, the largest amphibious mission in military history, the ‘beginning of the end’ of World War II, as the landings set the stage for Allied victory on the Western Front.

We are forever grateful, and we will never forget.

For 18 years, Bunkers in Baghdad has been sending golf equipment to U.S. military members serving across the globe, and today we are thrilled to announce with great pride and tremendous gratitude that we have now reached troops in 100 countries, with Bolivia marking our 100th country!

It’s truly remarkable how far we’ve come, and we could not have achieved this amazing milestone without the generosity and commitment of our donors, volunteers, and sponsors. The work we do in helping our brave troops, Wounded Warriors, and military veterans de-stress from the rigors of military life and rehabilitate from service-related injuries is critically important, and we are privileged to serve those who so courageously serve our nation.

It’s almost time for The Bunkers in Baghdad Open, and we’d love to have you join us on the course June 15 at Cloverbank Country Club in Hamburg, NY!

The Open is our largest fundraiser of the year and is critical to enabling our organization to fulfill its mission of supporting our troops and veterans around the globe. Registration and lunch will be at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. The day will then close with cocktails and dinner. All proceeds will benefit Bunkers in Baghdad. We are forever grateful and will never forget the courage of those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. On this Memorial Day, we remember and honor their service and courage. Our indebtedness knows no bounds.

What began as a small act of support has grown into a meaningful way to stay connected to our brave servicemembers – men and women who give so much in service to our nation, both at home and around the world. While what we do will never compare to their sacrifices, we are honored to offer a simple outlet for recreation, reflection, and recovery from the physical and mental demands of military life.

Bunkers in Baghdad has now delivered 17 MILLION golf balls to our amazing troops serving across the globe and here at home. Though what we do pales in comparison to the sacrifices made by those who serve our nation, we are privileged to provide our servicemembers with a source of recreation to de-stress from the rigors of military life and rehabilitation to help recover from service-related injuries.

We are deeply grateful to our donors, sponsors, and partners, including the HyFlyers GC, Phil Mickelson, LIV Golf, Callaway Golf, Topgolf, Goldberg Segalla, and those who make our “Bunkers Buddies” program possible. We are proud of the impact we have made together and look forward to what lies ahead.

It is truly remarkable to pause and reflect on just how far we have come.

In 2008, Bunkers in Baghdad was a small, grassroots effort that sent a single shipment of golf balls overseas – a simple way to remind our troops that they were in our hearts and on our minds.

Today, that effort has grown into a global mission. As we approach Memorial Day, we are proud to share that Bunkers in Baghdad has now delivered 17 MILLION golf balls, along with more than 1.9 million golf clubs, to our brave men and women serving around the world and here at home, reaching troops in 99 countries.

This milestone is amazing, and it would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, partners, and the more than 3,000 schools that support our mission through programs like Bunkers Buddies. Your belief in our cause allows us to continue serving those who serve us.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this achievement possible. We could not be more proud!
