As my Eagle Scout Project, my goal is to provide 500 Chef Created meals for our local heroes! Since the onset of The COVID-19 pandemic, hospital workers have been under considerable strain and risk, working day in and day out to take care of highly contagious patients. My aunt is a nurse, and has worked in Emergency Rooms for close to 40 years. I have seen many pictures of her in full scrubs, mask
and face shield working several hour shifts to make sure people are ok. I realized that sometimes these hospital workers go entire 12 hour shifts and more without eating, or they only get something quick from a vending machine or fast food. I decided that I wanted to help those frontline workers and provide them a quality meal that local chefs prepare. My name is Quinn Flaherty I am a member of the vanguard group of girls to join the century old BSA program. As I have advanced in rank, I am now at the point of executing my Eagle Scout Project. An Eagle Project is defined as a Scout lead service project that positively benefits the community. I started to think of important and meaningful aspects of my life. I want to tie together the elements of helping your neighbor, and of food bringing people together. I have many family members who work on the frontline, and others who work in the restaurant industry. By preparing fresh meals with the local restaurants and delivering them to the hospitals, those who work at the hospitals do not have to worry about a meal. In turn, the restaurants also receive income and work. My hope is that we can partner with local restaurants and provide 500 meals for hospital workers in our area. Your support is much appreciated!
