No Menthol Buffalo is calling on residents, parents, youth advocates, faith leaders, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to SHOW UP, SPEAK OUT, AND STAND TOGETHER! ✊🏾

For decades, Black and Brown communities and LGBTQIA+ populations have faced disproportionate harm from targeted to***co marketing and to***co-related health disparities.

At No Menthol Buffalo, we believe that building a healthier Buffalo starts with looking out for one another. Whether it’s encouraging a loved one to get screened, supporting someone through a breast cancer diagnosis, or helping our neighbors live to***co-free, every act of care makes a difference. 💕

💗 Let’s Talk About Menthol & Breast Health

You may wonder, what does menthol have to do with breast cancer awareness?

Smoking is linked to an increased risk of breast cancer, and menthol ci******es carry the same harmful, cancer-causing chemicals as other ci******es. Menthol can also make smoking easier to start and harder to quit.

For generations, the to***co industry has heavily marketed menthol ci******es in Black communities. At the same time, Black women continue to face higher breast cancer death rates and barriers to accessing timely, quality healthcare.

These are different challenges, but they remind us why health equity, education, prevention, and community support matter so much.

We are grateful for every church, community partner, youth advocate, and resident who participated, shared resources, started conversations, and stood with us in raising awareness about menthol and flavored to***co.

This initiative is bigger than one day it’s about protecting our communities, educating our youth, and creating lasting change.
