The Scalp & Blade fraternity was founded in 1893 at Cornell University by young men who all hailed from Buffalo, New York and surrounding Erie County. Today, our fraternity welcomes men from all colleges and universities. We hold social events throughout the year for our members and their guests to support our educational trust fund which awards scholarships to eight college students from local public high schools.

Congratulations to our 2025 Scalp and Blade Foundation scholarship recipients William Migas (Frontier) and Maxwell Greene (Williamsville South). Will is heading to the University of Pennsylvania and Max will attend Cornell. Each gentleman will receive a $10,000 award to further their college experience.

Congratulations to our 2024 scholarship recipients, Parker B. Cantie from Iroquois Central Senior High School and Owen Rung from East Aurora High School. Each gentleman will receive $10,000 paid over their four years of undergraduate study. Mr. Parker will attend SUNY at Buffalo, and Mr. Rung will attend Cornell University. Pictured with our Scholars is Joseph P Lojacono, chairman of the Scalp and Blade trust committee, and Terry Hall, chairman of the scholarship selection committee.

The Scalp and Blade had the honor of hosting our esteemed guest speaker, Colleen Heidinger, President of the 43North accelerator program for seed-stage startup companies in Buffalo, NY, at our annual St. Patrick's dinner held at the Blackthorn restaurant. Founded in 2014, 43North contributes $5,000,000 annually to startup companies relocating to Western New York. Ms. Heidinger is pictured with James Healy, President of the Scalp and Blade.

Happy 99th birthday to our brother, Kean Stimm. We are so grateful to have you in our lives!

Happy 99th birthday to our legendary brother, Kean Stimm! Kean was a founding member of the Scalp and Blade undergraduate chapter at Purdue University in 1946. He is a veteran of World War II and saw combat action in the Battle of the Bulge. He has survived through the Great Depression, six wars, seventeen US Presidents, a world-wide pandemic, and us!
