Bernice stopped by to see our friends at Sloan's Antiques this weekend to get some inspiration for 72 Sycamore. They just completed the local landmark process for their properties, too!!

Since 72 Sycamore is one of the oldest properties in the City of Buffalo (built pre civil war) and dare we say the oldest still standing built by and for a woman (Eliza Quirk!!), it’s a little harder to source materials and furniture from that time. But we’re on the hunt!

The gigantic Dairy Queen sign won’t fit in the building (lol) but we think we will be able to bring back some of the Eliza Quirk vibes with furniture and some historic pieces such as a fireplace, mirrors, lighting, etc. It will be hard to blend old with modern but that’s what makes this project so fun!

Who wants to ride bikes and explore our historic architecture with us ?!

With a career spanning over 70 years, Edward Brodhead Green made enormous architectural contributions to Buffalo, producing over 200 buildings, including the Market Arcade, the Buffalo Savings Bank, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

This ride is open to bikers of all levels, includes 10-12 miles of moderately paced biking, and is expected to take at least 2.5 hours.

Our response to the St. Ann’s fires.

The St. Ann’s property owners are unresponsive and refuse to secure the building. Preservation Buffalo Niagara calls on the City of Buffalo to pull out all the stops to wrestle this landmark church from its negligent absentee owner. Enough is enough!

WOW! Best GIVE716 yet with $6,885 raised via give716 and another $1,050 in donations via other platforms. That’s huge! We are so grateful for each donation. We won a $500 grant at the 2am hour and several of our donations were matched during the Give716 power hours to get us over $8k raised. Where else can you double your impact so quickly and win cool prizes?! We wanted to send a THANK YOU to our board members who donated and shared widely. A huge thank you goes to Joe, Monte and Marta - these three angels sent major donations in yesterday that made our hearts melt! And big hugs go to Bernice’s husband Drew and Bernice’s Aunt Joni for doing $250 in donation matches in honor of her 40th birthday. It takes a village and we are grateful to have a big one!

Good morning! Happy Give716 Day AND it’s Bernice’s 40th birthday!

Since it’s a big birthday, Bernice’s husband Drew has put up a $200 match from 8am - noon today.
