A recent study by the National Diaper Bank Network found that 1 in 2 families with young children face diaper insecurity. As an organization, the YWCA of WNY operates programs across Erie County, which work directly with families that may face this struggle.

Thank you, Agents for Advocacy (), for your generous donation of maternal health supplies to support our families. These supplies will be used to support families across our network of programs! Diapers, clothing, and more will be given to families in need through our Early Childhood Center, Children's Centers in the Courts, and beyond.

We are joining our YWCA sisters across the nation and the globe today, , to call attention to the problem of child marriage – which significantly increases the risk of experiencing domestic violence and decreases access to education and healthcare - here in the United States.

Our state elected leaders can stop this practice in its tracks: Today, 17 states prohibit marriage under the age of 18 without exceptions for parental permission, pregnancy, or court approval. 17 is not enough. We can and must do better for our nation’s girls.

Today is , and we’re joining YWCA USA and sister YWCAs all over the world to call attention to the fact that child marriage is still allowed in a whopping 33 states here in the U.S.

Child marriage creates barriers to the ability of girls to access education and financial stability and significantly increases the likelihood of experiencing domestic violence for children into their adulthood. Thank you to our donors, elected officials, supporters, friends, and staff for joining us at our lawn party to celebrate the ribbon cutting of our new sports field!

This field is a commitment to the families and community we serve. By expanding access to green space, a key social determinant of health, we've created a place where children, especially girls, can play, learn, and grow. The teamwork, leadership, and determination they build here will stay with them throughout their lives, on and off the field.

Ahead of the Buffalo Bills home opener, the staff from the new 7 Brew Coffee in Cheektowaga connected with our 21st Century Community Learning Center staff to provide free lemonades to the Maryvale Intermediate students and staff!

As students settle back into the school year, we’re reflecting on the hands-on learning and exploration that made our summer camp so special!

This summer, our campers explored Buffalo’s Canalside on a guided tour, learning about the history of the Erie Canal and the Buffalo Naval Park. They wrapped up their adventure with a ride on the Buffalo Heritage Carousel!

Field trips like these spark curiosity, keep students engaged while school is out of session, and help bring local history to life right in their own community.

A big thank-you to Explore Buffalo for sharing your knowledge and expertise and helping make this experience so memorable for our campers!
