Welcome to the newest member of the Buffalo Toy Library family! 🦬🤍

2025 has been an incredible year at the Toy Library and for our family!! Thank you to all of our members, visitors, and supporters who have helped the Toy Library grow this year. It has been the joy of my life to grow our family alongside the Toy Library family.

I (Hannah) will be spending some time with my family this winter, but the Toy Library is still open for PLAY!! We can’t wait to welcome you in and continue to grow, learn, and play together.

🎃Happy October to all!!🎃
The Buffalo Toy Library will be at two amazing events this month!

October 18th - Parkside Fall Fest 👻🍁
Join us in the Pakrside Business District from 11-2 for this amazing event for fun, play, and costumes! Located in the parking lot behind Alice, Ever After Books
*Due to the timing of this event the Toy Library will be CLOSED on Saturday October 18th. We apologize for any inconvenience!

October 25th - Tool Library Fall Tool & Bake Sale 🛠️🍰
We are thrilled to join the Tool Library for their Fall Tool & Bake Sale and work with this incredible sharing organization!! Located at the Tool Library at 2626 Main Street, the Toy Library will be present from 12-2 to provide some fun family play!!
*The Buffalo Toy Library will be closing early, at 11AM on Saturday October 25th for this event.

⭐️The Buffalo Toy Library is HIRING!!⭐️

We are looking for a temporary, part-time Play Partner to join our team!

Details:

The position is from December 1, 2025-May 2, 2026

Hours: Thursdays 9:30-3:30, Fridays 9:30-3:30, Saturdays 8:30-12:30

Located on-site at 2929 Main Street Buffalo NY 14216 (upstairs)

The Job:

Lead daily operations at the Buffalo Toy Library, including:

- Welcoming new and returning visitors,
- Facilitating play at the Toy Library,
- Managing memberships and borrowing using our software MyTurn
- Keeping the Toy Library space clean and organized

Qualifications:

Our new team member should:

- Have experience working with children and/or families
- Willing to undergo background check
- Be able to lift 15 pounds and work upstairs
- Be available to work all shifts

This year, the Buffalo Toy Library is thrilled to be participating in Give 716 Day! A community-wide day of giving coordinated by the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Buffalo Sabres Foundation with the goal of uniting Western New Yorkers behind their favorite organizations.
Give716 begins tonight, July 15th at 7:16pm - July 16th at 11:59pm.

How to Participate:
All day long there are opportunities to win incentives, or participate in Power Hours. Check out the full schedule below!

What Your Gift Means:
By donating to the Buffalo Toy Library on Give716 Day you are ensuring our ability to continue providing sustainable access to high-quality play materials for all children in Buffalo and Western New York. Gifts will have a direct impact on our free and open play model, as well as support ongoing community events, and increase access to play for families through scholarship memberships.

☀️Happy Summer from the Buffalo Toy Library ☀️

We wanted to alert you to some upcoming closings this summer!

We will be closed July 4th and 5th for the holiday weekend 🎆 we will return to normal hours on Wednesday July 9th and will be at Coles Library for Story Time on July 7th!

We are also taking two breaks this summer for deep cleaning and family time from July 24th-August 2nd, and from August 28th-September 6th. Please be sure to plan your play and borrowing accordingly!

Buffalo Toy Library June Community Events!! 🎉

We are so excited to see you out in the community this month! Check out the link in our bio for more information.

We will be at Climb Buffalo, an event bringing awareness to the mental health of new families, and postpartum mental health. On Sunday June 22nd at Chestnut Ridge Park, beginning at 10am.

We are so excited to also be participating in this year’s Canalside Children’s Book Festival. Located right at Canalside, the Festival is on June 29th from 10am-1pm.
